The humor is wild sometimes but doesn’t have a bunch of sex jokes
Those are occasionally there but more like to make the point that Saiki k is not that kind of show
It is funny and have sweet moments
And also nice art style
I’ll even use the umbrella academy seasons 1-2 (and 3) as a example
Off topic jokes, some swearing and a few jokes told more than once (it is not brought up a lot tho)
The show has a good and coherent plot tho
And lovable characters
That is what makes it so good

I thought this was a kids game, not a gutter mouth convention
Simply, a curse itself is not a funny punchline. There needs to be more for it to tell your mind that this is a funny scenario, like this cute angel girl getting fawned over despite being more mouthy than a sailor.
Also, Panty and Stockings feels very genuine with how silly it is consistently, so it works.
A other way to resume it: PaS it’s pure comedy while Hazbin is suposed to have a more serious plot

As someone who lives in California who watched a few episodes of Hazbin Hotel and could not, for the life of me, see why it was perceived so negatively: DUDE stop calling me out T^T lmao
As a minor I probably should've read the title instead of clicking because a kid at my school watches this show
Panty & Stocking is written like a Steve Oedekerk movie.
Hazbin Hotel is written like a Steven Universe episode where you have to take it seriously.

I haven't watched Panty and Stocking, mainly because it doesn't appeal to me, which is okay. However, HH and HB tend to use the "Hell is full of terrible people, what did you expect?" excuse. Uh… what? I'm sorry but you want to make a show about redemption and you say this? Stupid, number 1. Number two, swears aren't funny. They can be used in a comedic way, like how when Starlord said, opening the f'ing door, to Nebula in GOTG Volume 3, but they shouldn't be used every five seconds and again, they aren't funny. HH and HB use of swears gets exhausting to a point where they no longer become funny. They turned down the swears in season 2 of HH but most of the jokes still didn't land. It's hard to take this show seriously when they use swears during the funny AND serious moments. Make it incredibly frustrating. You hit the nail on the head in the beginning of the video. They use swears as if a 13 year old just discovered the internet or is watching South Park for the first time.
HH and HB also severely suffers from bad writing. The fanfiction for HH and HB has WAY better writing than HH and HB AND the fans understand the characters better than Viv, which, imo, is just so frustrating.
I don't think panty and stocking is in any way immature nor unserious. It also deals with very serious topics if you think about it.
Panty and Stocking also has a plus of being really well drawn. Most adult cartoons have that really weird grody art style that nobody likes. Hazbin doesn’t have it but still.plus HH literally just pokes fun at actual SA. My golden comedy is always bojack horseman because it didn’t ever need to rely on swears. The jokes were well set up and you understand that bojack is a juvenile person by just watching him. PAS however isn’t trying to be bojack. It understands it’s immature and frankly dumb and runs with it. Abd that’s what makes it entertaining. HH and HB try to be both mature and well set up like bojack, and dumb but funny like PAS. But in the end it fails at both. Plus PAS is meant to be a complete parody of American cartoons and America in general, it can be enjoyed as both a parody and one big western pop culture reference

There's also just a lot of issues in Hazbins Plot. like, Angel and Husk, it is so hard to tell what their relationship is, because they are so on and off with it.

It’s because PAS is a direct parody of American cartoons and what japanese people think Americans talk like taken to the extreme. HH tries to take itself seriously but in the end poorly handles things. PAS knows exactly what it is and runs with it, it doesn’t need to be some fancy smorgasbord, it’s a turn your brain off show you can enjoy. And even if you do really look into it, you can see the well written irony and jokes come together before your eyes. It’s the fact that these angels are acting so out of character and the demons are so eloquent. PAS is dumb funny engineered to be good. And it works

blud I'm 13 and I live in California and Hazbin is the most horrible show I have ever seen in my life and this is coming from a kandi kid! I personally like Panty and Stocking better because of the art style and other things. meanwhile Hazbin Hotel only has 3 colors: Red, Black, and Yellow with tiny bits of white </3 this is the most horrible color pallet I have ever seen and they barely change it.
The difference to me is that the character's in panty and stock are hot
The difference is simple your analogies don't need to be dealt with. The reality is the content. One of them is a comedy one of them is a drama. That's the difference. The container being the genre must fit the contents inside the container. Otherwise there's a clash of expectations versus reality. Jokes are okay in a comedy. In a drama they are not. Done
I’m an adult adult, like approaching middle age, and I just completely disagree with the judgement that the language in the hellaverse ruins the serious subject matter. 1. They’re in hell. 2. Comedy can be included in drama. And 3. Adults can and do talk like that in their regular lives. Not all of them. Just like not all of the Hellaverse characters. The language somewhat scales with their personality, virtuosity, and culture. You can be turned off by it that’s fine, it doesn’t have to be for you, but I think it’s kinda unfair and simplistic to act like the Hellaverse has only juvenile handling of dead serious subject matter that is overwhelmed by potty language. The idea that swearing ruins a show is… silly to me.

I also kinda want to add here 3:50 , is that even if your show no matter what it is. There would be things for adults, take some shows from disney back then sometimes there were very suttle hints of sex jokes but werent obvious because it’s for kids. Those jokes were put into that joke for the parents, because some parents watch shows with their kids so just so the parent’s don’t get bored they sneak an adult joke not all kids cartoon will have an adult show think of Blue which I am very sure doesn’t have any adult shows but it’s more educated base even for adults and parents.
So no matter how you look at shows like Vivs you need to have good story telling and good writing skills in order to properly write your story. I am myself writing and making my own show (well show’s) but I won’t post just yet because developing shows takes so much time and effort, which is why I think Viv should have kept working on her shows story telling. But then again amazon is also to blame here for only giving 8 episodes, but then again again Viv didn’t have to go to amazon she could have made her show here on YouTube like helluva boss. :/

tbh i dont think it would matter about the amounr of swearing as long as they made it natural sounding, and more appropriate for the situation they're in. but they don't do that so it sounds weird, and doesn't fit in with the dialogue most of the time + its usually unnecessary (?) or doesn't fit the character. (not hating on either btw, im a fan of hazbin hotel and i like panty and stocking (haven't finished tho)) (also i honestly don't mind the swearing unless it's really obviously unnatural or doesn't fit the situation or they swear just to swear, then i just can't really stand it lol) (sorry for yapping and if this doesn't make sense ToT (i only had a couple hours of sleep and im sick o(TヘTo) ))
Sometimes I wonder if viv knows her own characters. Specifically alastor. Pilot him is so different than him now. Pilot him actually felt mysterious, a guy who doesn’t swear. Him now just feels like he’s a cringy fake emo kid who curses constantly. It ruined his character
