takopi No Genzai based on Tyizen’s manga will officially premiere on June 28th 2025 that’s not all the promo also gave us our first taste of the anime’s opening and ending themes the opening theme is called Happy Lucky Chappie performed by Ano known for her work on songs like Ichiban No Takono from Comey Can’t Communicate and the ending theme is Glass No Sen by Tela another fresh voice in the anime music scene the trailer itself gives off very cute emotional vibes blending the innocent charm of Topi with the more serious and emotional life struggles of Shizuka it looks like it’s going to be a mix of light-hearted moments and deep storytelling so what exactly is Topi No Gen Zai about takopi is a small alien who comes to Earth from the planet Happy yes that’s the actual name of his home world with a mission to spread happiness wherever he goes upon arriving on Earth he meets Shizuka a young girl who helps him adapt to life on our strange little planet in return Takopi wants to make Shizuka smile but there’s a problem shizuka’s life isn’t easy at all she faces difficult circumstances and Takopi being the innocent and naive alien that he is doesn’t quite understand the harshness of human reality this sets up a central conflict how far will Takopi go just to see Shizuka happy will he be willing to do something wrong something that goes against his mission just to bring a smile to her face it sounds like a sweet story on the surface but judging by the tone of the trailer it might take some surprisingly emotional turns the newly released key visual shows Takopi standing next to Shizuka both looking toward a bright sky the art style seems soft and colorful matching the overall vibe of spreading joy and hope there’s also a strong contrast between Takopi’s cheerful appearance and the more grounded sometimes melancholic expressions on Shizuka’s face which suggests that this anime will balance humor and emotion in a very delicate way if you enjoy slice of life anime with a touch of fantasy and deep character development Topi No Genzai could be one to watch this summer
