私たちの感覚を研ぎ澄まし、自分の中にある何かを覚醒させてくれる「Vibe」がテーマのKyotographie 2019（京都国際写真祭）。 京都文化博物館、京都新聞ビル印刷工場跡、二条城、誉田屋源兵衛 竹院の間や両足院など、市内の11の会場で、世界的に活躍する写真家やアーティストたちの展示が、本日、4月13日(土)から始まった。
本誌でも毎シーズン心に響くストーリーを撮り下ろしている写真家、アルバート・ワトソン、キューバのフィデル・カストロのオフィシャルフォトグラファーだったアルベルト・コルダによるチェ・ゲバラ像、バウハウス100周年記念展と題し、自然の強いメッセージを撮りおろしたアルフレート・エールハルト、50ー60年代のアメリカンカルチャーを題材にしたポーランド人のヴェロニカ・ゲンシツカ。また、振付師、映画監督、そして元プロダンサーでもあるなどベンジャミン・ミルピエが捉えた身体の美しい動きなど、見応えのある展示の数々が、5月12日(日）まで見ることができる。

Kyotographie 2019 (Kyoto International Photography Festival)’s theme is “Vibe”, a distinctive emotional atmosphere which heighten our sensitivity and awakes our inner sensitivity.
Today celebrates the first day of Kyotographie 2019, internationally acclaimed photographers and artists work will be exhibited at 11 historical and modern locations within Kyoto, such as The Museum of Kyoto, Kyoto Shimbun B1F, Former Printing Plant,Nijo-jo Castle Ninomaru-goten Palace Okiyodokoro Kitchen, Kondaya Genbei Chikuin-no-Ma and Ryosokuin until the Sunday 12th May.
What can we expect this year? They are all must see but do check out below creator’s work: -VOGUE JAPAN’s frequent contributor, legendary photographer @albertwatsonphotography who always capture our heart. -Alberto Korda who was an official photographer of Cuba’s Fidel Castro, -Alfred Ehrhardt, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus this year, it’s alumni’s works were inspired by dynamic natural structures. – @wgesicka an aspiring Polish artist who makes witty photomontages using American stock photos from the 1950s and 60s. – @benjaminmillepied internationally renowned former dancer, choreographer-filmmaker who explores dancer’s beautiful moves via black and white photos.
