2012年5月26日 日本最大級のファッション＆音楽イベントの「ガールズアワード2012 SPRING／SUMMER」が東京、渋谷の国立代々木競技場第1体育館で開催されました。
トップバッターとしてアイドルグループ「AKB48」の篠田麻里子さんが
モデルとして登場。ユニオンジャックの旗を大きく振り会場を沸かせました。
ランウェイ終了後、篠田さんは自身のTwitterに
「黄色い声援がむっちゃ気持ち良かった〜＼(^o^)／」
「モデルちゃん達に『音楽に乗ってノリノリよ〜♪』って言われたから
ノリノリのりまさで歩いてみました★」
と、感想をつぶやきました。

Me too! I'm a massive AKB fan from the UK and Mariko is my Oshi, so nothing makes me happier than to see her waving my flag ;D
Mariko-sama is cool, successful and popular.Negative votes from H!P wota wont change that.I like both groups,as well as Momoclo Z and many others.I guess the hardcore wota are loyal to one group and one oshi,and will never change.
I was brought here by a H!P link, since I like both H!P AND the 48 girls, but i'm guessing a lot of bias H!P fans are here and that is why it has so many negative votes :/ But whatever, I LOVE Mariko Shinoda! She is the best! (my fave female idol) and she looks beautiful 😀
ALSO! by speculation, It seems that a lot of the people here really don't like how she is waving the union jack flag (japanese comments) I can't read them 100% fluently, but that's what I'm picking up from bits and pieces.
別に英語のコメ読んでも「好き」とか「何でこんな低評価多いの？」とかばっかじゃない？AKB が居るだけで低評価とか別にあなた一人にこのイベントが成功かどうかを決めて欲しくない。このイベントを見て誰かがファッションに興味持ったらそれで良いじゃん。とわたしは思った
