That is why these players are now skipping tournaments and slams when they think even the littlest thing is amiss, even mental health. So when you see someone out there on the court competing, you best believe that is the average best version of themselves out there. Because their team is not going to let them compete in front of millions of fans and sponsors just to get double-bageled because they are out of shape.
Svitolina was the average best version of herself coming back from maternity leave, and in fact, I could argue she is the best version of herself ever in her career now because Svitolina came back with the best serve she has ever had. Same with Wozniacki. She waited until she was back to her best fitness level before she came back. And you can best believe Osaka was in her average best here as well. It's just that everyone else is also just as motivated because they want the prize money and positive social media engagement, which can lead to sponsorship deals like it has never been seen before.

Osaka’s form seems fine considering the early stage she’s at with her comeback – probably would’ve been good enough to win against 80% of the other first round players but she just happened to come up against a Caroline Garcia in top form…that’s the random luck of being unseeded. Pretty sure she’ll be top 20 again before long and things seem to be moving in the right direction.

So let's review 3 years ago a top tennis player multiple grand slam champion let the entire field know she can be shook mentally by reporters in a press conference or a crowd booing her. The most ass ignorant stupid thing any athlete especially in an individual sport can do . Why ? Because now everyone of your opponents know that you can be shook mentally and we've all watched her results since then. Dumb just dumb.
