This video introduces you to “Emma”; so far, Emma has not revealed her real name. She was born to a Japanese mother and an English father who is a J-citizen in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. Europeans often refer to Hokkaido as Japan’s “Switzerland.” Indeed, the place is one of the most nature-preserved areas in the whole world. However, recently, Mainland Chinese people are moving in to develop the place, destroying nature and eating up protected animals, plants, insects, etc.
Emma grew up surrounded by nature. She moved to Tokyo only to attend a professional school for fashion designers. She wanted to become a fashion designer; however, while she was attending school, she was scouted to become a model instead. At first, her parents did not approve of that, and Emma too felt intimidated. But she later changed her mind and decided to try it out.
Today, Emma is offered a long-term contract as a “ViVi” model; “ViVi” is one of the popular Japanese women’s fashion magazines. It is difficult to get such a job even for beautiful girls, so Emma now appreciates it very much.
Emma says that being away from Hokkaido makes her really appreciate her hometown, and she misses the place much more now than ever before.
