[JAPAN] Yuko Araki – Actress et Dior’s Exclusive Model

This video introduces you to Ms. Yuko (or Youko) Araki, one of the hopeful actresses in Japan.
Yuko was born in Tokyo to Japanese parents. When she was 10 years old, she was scouted by a major talent agency. Her parents negotiated that Yuko only appears as a child clothing model, nothing else, for she needs to study. Yuko says that she didn’t remember much of her early career but only remember the good times, having fun with other kids.
In May 2008, Yuko was cast for a film for the first time. The movie was called, “Throw Anchor,” which was produced by the students at Tokyo University of the Arts. Afterward, she appeared in the movies like “The Blue Bird,” starring Hiroshi Abe, a famous actor, “Confession,” and “Usotsuki Mii-kun and Broken Maa-chan.”
Until high school, Yuko was an unknown; she was doing fine as a fashion model but as a child actor, she was not so successful… as her parents wanted her to be so. When Yuko entered college, she began quitting her entertainment career altogether for she was not going anywhere. Instead, she was preparing to a career woman in a corporate world.
In 2014, Yuko became an exclusive model for a women’s magazine, “Non-No”; she also got an offer to appear in a TV CM. In 2015, she made many TV CMs. As an actress, she was often introduced as a “new face” in the industry even though she has been acting since she was 10 years old.
In 2016, Yuko began to be noticed; she began to receive different roles in films and TV dramas.
In 2020, she accepted an offer to appear in the Dior fashion show which she has been declining since 2018 for she was too busy acting and doing TV CMs. Today, Yuko is one of Dior’s regular models who is also a Dior Ambassador of Japan. Whatever she does, best of luck to Yuko!
