This video introduces you to Ms. Michiko Kichise, one of the most beautiful and popular actresses in Japan. Michiko was born in Fukuoka to Japanese parents. She originally wanted to become a cosmetologist, so she attended a professional school for it but didn’t finish her study. She then worked at a local cafe, trying to figure out what to do with her life. That was when she was scouted as a fashion model.
At age 20, Michiko moved to Tokyo and was accepted into a major talent agency. Through this agency, she began receiving modeling jobs. She was eventually selected to become an exclusive model for a major women’s fashion magazine, “Domani.” She also appeared in numerous TV commercials.
At age 30, Michiko switched from modeling to acting completely based on her agency’s suggestion. She took the challenge, studied how to act and speak well to get rid of her Fukuoka accent. Since then, she has been active in films and TV dramas, appearing in “Liar Game” and “Bloody Monday,” etc. Michiko began to be noticed as an actress and again began to receive jobs as a model on the cover of fashion magazines but this time, internationally. So, even though she wanted to focus solely on acting, she was wanted as a model as well.
In January 2009, Michiko starred in the TV drama, “Delusion Sisters – Under The Name Of Literature” to play multiple characters for the first time; it was a difficult role but she successfully played the roles. In May 2010, she starred in “Hagane no Onna,” starring a leading role for the first time. Michiko also starred in the movie, “Elevator to the Death Penalty,” released in Sept 2010. She was recognized as a hopeful actress then, receiving the Elan d’Or Award New Face Award in Feb 2011.
In July 2014, Michiko played a celebrity housewife who suffers between being a housewife and a lover, “Lunch Face-Lovers: At 3:00 pm On Weekdays.” Meanwhile, Michiko married her long-time BF with whom she had a lovely baby in 2015. In the same year, Michiko published her first essay, “Kokoro Riki (“Power of Heart”).” Today, she enjoys her professional work, as well as her family, as well as writing occasionally. Best of luck to Michiko!
