こんな日が来ることのありがたさ…。2017年、自分自身が道に迷い、留学を決意し、アメリカ西海岸でBoyz ll MenのShawn @shawnstockmanofficial と再会。そして一緒に曲を作ることに…。動画の冒頭にShawnも言ってくれているけど、まさか2017年当時、2020-2021年世界中がこんな混乱の中にあるとはまったく予想もしなかった…。決して喜べる事態じゃないけれど、その中にきっと必然があったんだと、あらためて気付かされる。新型コロナウィルス。そこから派生するさまざまな問題。そして人種差別問題…。偶然にも、この曲はまさにそんなことを歌っている。
曲を作る時、最初にShawnがボクに聞いてきたことはこうだった。
“ATSUSHI、どんなテーマの曲を作りたい⁇ 今まで作ったことのないテーマとかはあるかい⁇”
ボクはすぐに答えた…。
“ボクは今まで目の色や肌の色などの、人種のことについて、まだ歌ったことがない…”
すぐに彼は、うなずきながら、何かを感じるようにギターを弾き始めた…。
Shawnとだから実現したテーマであり、彼とだから歌えた曲だったのかもしれない。
そんな始まりからできた曲です。

Grateful for the small things in life .
2017, when I was lost and decided to study abroad, I met up with Shawn of Boyz II Men and decided to make a song together. As Shawn mentioned at the beginning of the video, never did anyone imagine something like this would happen in the year 2020-21.
Racism spread around the world alongside Covid-19 causing many problems. As it happens,the song was based about this.
But before making the song, Shawn asked me if I had a certain topic I wanted to sing about.
So I told him I’ve never sang about world race.
He nodded , felt the vibe and started playing the guitar right away.
We ended up making a beautiful song.
Lots of appreciation to Shawn as well as all of you that have already heard this heartwarming song.
