アジア最大級の映画祭「第28回東京国際映画祭（TIFF）」が10月22日、六本木ヒルズ（東京都港区）などで開幕し、レッドカーペットに、アニメ「機動戦士ガンダム」シリーズの生みの親として知られる富野由悠季監督、シリーズ第1作でキャラクターデザインを担当した安彦良和さん、モビルスーツなどのデザインを手がけた大河原邦男さんの“三巨頭”のそろい踏みが実現した。
そのほかシャア役の声優の池田秀一さん、アムロ役の声優の古谷徹さん、ララァ役の声優の潘恵子さんの娘で声優の潘めぐみさん 歌手のGACKTさんも登場し、イベントに花を添えた。
TIFFは、1985年にスタートし、今年で28回目を迎えるアジア最大級の映画祭。今回は「ガンダムとその世界」と題し、「機動戦士ガンダム」「機動戦士ガンダム 逆襲のシャア」「機動戦士ガンダム THE ORIGIN 1 青い瞳のキャスバル」「ガンダム Gのレコンギスタ」など約20タイトルを上映する予定で、2009年のイベント「GUNDAM BIG EXPO」で公開された異色の短編のCGアニメ「Ring of Gundam」が初めて劇場で上映されることも話題を集めている。

The Asia’s largest film festival “28th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF)” was held at Roppongi Hills (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on October 22nd. The “three giants” including director Yoshiyuki Tomino who is known as the father of the animation series “Mobile Suit Gundam”, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko who is in charge of designing characters in the first work of the series, Kunio Okawara who is in charge of design at Mobile Suit, walked together on the red carpet.
