DDG Responds To Halle Bailey’s Claim That He Slept With Lala Baptiste in Mexico
In the midst of one of the most emotionally charged celebrity custody battles of the year, DDG has found himself not only defending his parenting and legal position, but also speaking out against a whirlwind of rumors involving social media influencer Lala Baptiste. Though it’s unclear whether or not the messages are real, the public couldn’t help but take the alleged messages as proof of how badly Halle had been affected by postpartum depression, something she had previously opened up about. And DDG’s behavior didn’t sit right with many people, as it seemed like he was only worsening the situation for Halle, especially because of the text where she had accused him of cheating. DDG showing Halle’s reaction to him while she was pregnant and going through postpartum says a lot more about him than her. The claim alleged that DDG had been romantically involved with Lala Baptiste during a group trip to Mexico, and many users immediately jumped on the theory, especially after a surfaced video showed Lala referring to DDG as her only guy friend. But DDG is like my only real guy friend. Like, I’ve known him for hella long. We’ve been through a lot of phases together. That paired with the timing of the trip and the online accusations gave the rumor a life of its own. However, both Lala and DDG have been quick to shut the narrative down as she spoke candidly about the rumors, stating, “The whole friend group went on this trip, and everyone on this trip can confirm there was nothing weird going on. I wasn’t even staying near them. It was for someone’s birthday. Like, me and Daryl’s relationship has always been strictly started off as business, obviously. If you know, you know. Like, he put me on to YouTube.” Then, DDG himself took to Twitter to explain his side, writing, “Just to clear the air. I’ve never been romantically involved with Lala. Can y’all please stop spreading that rumor? I’d appreciate it. Notably, DDG has also filed for sole legal and physical custody of his and Halle’s son and even attempted to block her from taking Halo out of the country for a planned trip to Italy, citing mental instability and previous threats involving a while his request for a restraining order was denied. The motion sparked even more heated debate online about who exactly is fit to be a parent considering DDG’s online behavior. Halle didn’t remain silent either as in her own court declaration she fiercely defended her mental stability and capacity as a mother stating I have been very vocal about my anxiety depression and previous thoughts of suicide. I have reached out to my doctor and received treatment to address these issues.
