Summary:
Ten-year-old Violetta (Anamaria Vartolomei) lives with her grandmother, whose mother, Hannah (Isabelle Huppert), is a fledgling photographer who spends a lot of time away from home and rarely cares for her family. Until she suddenly comes home one time and starts enticing Violetta to be her model, dressing her up as a gorgeous, dark, seductive little princess for a series of stunning photographs that instantly become the talk of Paris. Hannah earns a place in the high society of her dreams, but Violetta is met with ridicule and rejection at school. However, after realizing that her daughter’s virginity is the key to her fame, Hanna takes it to the next level and even threatens to make Violetta take pictures of her having intercourse with men, which quickly deteriorates the relationship between mother and daughter. On the one hand, Hannah refuses to give up, on the other hand, Violetta no longer wants to be manipulated by her, and the tension between mother and daughter is intensifying and is on the verge of falling apart ……
