　アイドルグループ「AKB48」の渡辺麻友さんが8月29日、東京都内で行われたトヨタのイベント「CROWN JAPAN FESTA in 代官山」で行われたトークセッションに、舞妓姿で登場し、「着付けとお化粧で、3時間くらいかかりました。緊張していますが、（きょうは）舞妓さんになりきりたいと思います！」と笑顔を見せた。

　舞妓姿は、30日から全国で放送される同社の新CM「COOL or HOT？」編で披露するもので、同CMで共演した俳優の豊川悦司さんも登場し、豊川さんは「美しいですね。今日はラッキーだな。とてもおきれいで、ドキドキしています」とメロメロだった。

　2人が出演する新CM「COOL or HOT？」は、豊川さんがクラウンの特別仕様車「J－FRONTIER」に乗って、芸者や力士、コスプレーヤー、女子高生など、伝統と最先端が共存する日本を走るという内容。渡辺さんは、CMの冒頭と最後に、舞妓姿で登場する。

Mayu Watanabe of the idol group “AKB48” appeared in the shape of a maiko at a talk session held under the framework of Toyota’s event 「CROWN JAPAN FESTA in Daikanyama」in Tokyo on August 29th. She said with a smile: “I have spent about 3 hours for dressing and making up. I am very nervous, but I will become a maiko today!”.

The shape of maiko appearing in the new CM of the company with the version “COOL or HOT” will be broadcast nationwide from the 30th. She came to the event along with her co-star Etsushi Toyokawa in the CM. Toyokawa shared: “She is really nice, isn’t she? Today, I am very lucky. She is very nice and makes my heart pound constantly”.
