Synopsis:
In Japan, the number of workers from overseas is increasing. Conflicts between new and long-time residents can occur, sometimes due to a lack of clarity about Japanese rules. However, in Ohashi in Fukuoka city, people from Nepal and their Japanese neighbors live in harmony. Why has coexistence there been so successful?
A street-corner store selling Nepalese products attracts not only people from Nepal but also Japanese customers. Among the latter is a woman who treats the owner and his family just like her own family. The local government also provides support on figuring out how to dispose of garbage, which can sometimes be confusing for newcomers. At the same time, Nepalese residents are trying their best to integrate themselves into the community. With a strong sense of cohesion, they support each other whenever they have problems with life in Japan. Ohashi is called “Little Kathmandu” for its large number of Nepalese people. The area offers insights into what Japan might look like in the near future when population decline prompts the country to welcome even more foreign workers.

番組概要：
海外からやってきた労働者が増え、日本各地でトラブルが相次ぐ中、福岡市のある地域ではネパールから来た人たちが地元に溶け込み生活をする姿が当たり前になってきている。
なぜこの地域では、うまく“共生”が進んでいるのか？その秘密を探る。
街角に立つネパールの食材を扱う店には、ネパールからの留学生だけでなく、日本の人たちも買い物に訪れる。中には店主一家と家族以上の付き合いをするおばあちゃんも。近所トラブルのもとになりやすい、ゴミの出し方については行政もサポートするなど、町ぐるみで共生の道を探ることで、さらにネパールの人たちが住みやすい形に変わってきている。
さらに、ネパール人コミュニティでは、本国と同じようなイベントも開催、まさに“リトルカトマンズ”と言えるような状況に。
人口減少が続き、“移民”受け入れにかじを切ろうとしている近未来の日本の姿がここにある。
