She is known for her roles as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series and Belle in the live-action film Beauty and the Beast. She is 165 cm tall. She was born in Paris, France. She is a British citizen and currently resides in the United States.

She made her debut in 2001 as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Since then, she has appeared in all of the films up to the seventh film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She won the AOL Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. She was also voted Best Newcomer by readers of the British film magazine Total Film for her role in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In December 2009, she was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the “highest grossing actress of the past decade.” Watson earned a total of $60 million from the Harry Potter films she starred in over the past decade from 2000 to 2010. In January 2011, the American economic magazine Forbes released a ranking of the “highest grossing on-screen couples,” with herself and fellow Harry Potter star Rupert Grint coming in at number one. She and Grint earned $79 million from the series alone.

In 2015, she was named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.”
