抗議のキャンドル「戦争・核兵器はいらない」広島・原爆ドーム前
Anti-war and anti-nuke candlelight protest in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome
ロシアのウクライナ侵攻に抗議しようと広島の市民団体が原爆ドーム前で１３００個のキャンドルに火をともして、戦争反対と核兵器を使用しないよう訴えました。
抗議活動は「核兵器廃絶をめざすヒロシマの会」が主催したもので、被爆者など関係者、およそ１００人が集まりました。
１３００個のキャンドルに火がともされると、「戦争・核兵器はいらない」という内容の英語とロシア語の文字が浮かびました。
戦争や核兵器の犠牲者に対し黙とうをささげた後、ロシアの軍事行動の即時中止とともに、核兵器の威嚇や使用の反対などを求める声明文を読み上げました。

「このままでは人類が今までの生活を維持していく時代が終わってしまうと思う。
いま本当に瀬戸際にあるのではないかなと。」
抗議活動の模様はインターネットを通じ、世界にも発信されました。

An alliance of Hiroshima citizens protested Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
using 1,300 candles to spell out a message against wars and nuclear weapons in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome.
The protest was organized by the Hiroshima Alliance for Nuclear Weapons Abolition (HANWA) and
approximately 100 people, including hibakusha, gathered together for the cause.
When all 1,300 candles were lit, they spelled out “No War, No Nukes” in English and “No War” in Russian.
After a moment of silence for victims of war and nuclear weapons, the alliance read a message calling for the immediate cessation of Russia’s military activities in Ukraine.
The message also protested threatening to use nuclear weapons, as well as the use of nuclear weapons.

I truly believe that this is the eleventh hour for us.
The protest was also shared across the globe online.
