On May 11, Hiroshima City Council made a formal proposal to the City of Hiroshima to offer aid to Ukraine.
The proposal is based on the fact that both the Russian invasion of Ukraine and President Vladimir Putin’s statements suggesting the use of nuclear weapons callously trample on the Will of Hiroshima and the will of the hibakusha,who continue to plead for the abolition of nuclear weapons and the realization of lasting world peace.
Hiroshima City Council and the City of Hiroshima are jointly calling for aid to Ukraine.

Proposed aid from the Hiroshima City Council includes sending funds to groups providing humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees in countries that border Ukraine. Additionally, City Council also asks for the City of Hiroshima to proactively accept Ukrainian refugees and work to swiftly provide them with the support they need.

広島市議会は広島市に対し、ウクライナへの支援を検討するよう5月11日 申し入れを行いました。
申し入れでは ロシアのウクライナ侵攻やプーチン大統領が核兵器の使用を示唆したことは、核兵器廃絶と世界恒久平和の実現を願う被爆者と広島の心を踏みにじるものだとした上で、広島市議会と広島市が共同でウクライナ支援を検討するよう求めています。

支援内容について広島市議会は、ウクライナ国内や国外に避難している人々を受け入れている周辺国などで人道支援を行う団体に支援金を送ることをあげています。また、避難民を広島市で積極的に受け入れ、必要な支援を速やかに提供するよう求めています。
