In a new interview with Deadline, Margot Robbie has spoken about taking a break from acting following the success of ‘Barbie.’
‘Barbie,’ which Robbie produced and starred in, became the biggest film of 2023 following a sprawling marketing campaign.
The film also attracted awards attention towards Robbie, director Greta Gerwig (who Robbie handpicked), and supporting actor Ryan Gosling.
Reflecting on the cultural impact of ‘Barbie,’ Robbie stated that everyone might be “sick of the sight” of her.
“I also think everyone’s probably sick of the sight of me for now. I should probably disappear from screens for a while. Honestly, if I did another movie too soon, people would say, ‘Her again? We just did a whole summer with her. We’re over it’,” Robbie told Deadline.
Robbie stated that she doesn’t know what she’ll do next, but she hopes that “it’s a little while away.”
Robbie’s comments have drawn comparisons to Jennifer Lawrence’s previous statements about fans becoming tired of her after successful films.
