【TSSテレビ新広島】ウクライナ支援のＮＰＯ団体が報告　NPO reports on situation in Ukraine

A local NPO reports on the situation in Ukraine.
An NPO from Hiroshima providing support for Ukrainians held a press conference about their activities on the ground.
Peace Winds Japan, an NGO headquartered in Hiroshima, sent five staff members, including doctors, to Ukraine for six days beginning on June 8.

Staff members visited hospitals in the capital city of Kyiv and in Chernihiv in northern Ukraine to assess the extent of damages.

At a press conference held on June 17, the NGO reported that the situation is grave. In addition to shortages of medical supplies, including medicine, medical equipment necessary for treatments have also been destroyed in attacks by Russia.

At present, Ukraine is in a state of both life as usual and war. I believe that there is so much we can do when it comes to medical care to help people return to their everyday lives.

In Ukraine, every day more and more people return home from places they evacuated to.
Based on the results of their survey, Peace Winds Japan plans to provide support on the ground as quickly as possible in a way that suits their needs.

広島に本部を置くＮＰＯ団体のピースウィンズ・ジャパンは、６月８日から６日間ウクライナ国内に医師などスタッフ５人を派遣。

首都キーウと北部のチェルニヒウで病院などを訪れ、被害の状況を確認しました。

６月１７日の会見で現地の病院では、医薬品などの医療物資が不足しているほか、ロシアによる攻撃で治療に必要な医療機器が破壊されて使えないなど、深刻な状況にあることなどが報告されました。

ウクライナでは避難先からかつて住んでいた場所に戻る人が増えていて、ピースウィンズ・ジャパンは今回の調査結果をもとに、現地のニーズに合わせた支援に早急に取り組んでいくとしています。
