HIYA! Here is a TV Live + Interview of the song “DAHLIA” by Japanese visual kei rock band “X JAPAN”, in HD 1080p 60FPS quality. It is one of my favourite songs by them.

Recently, there used to be a YouTube channel called FLASH NUMBER TV, who posted a ton of Japanese 90s TV recordings never seen before on the internet. Of very various topics, not only visual kei / J-rock. Their channel got removed, but I downloaded all of the VK videos before that happened. One of them is this performance. I have enhanced it with video editing programs, to make it look as good as I could possibly make it. I also remastered the audio in my DAW with high-end plugins. I hope you enjoy!!!

This performance is from “SUPER LIVE ’95”, so from 1995, but I don’t know the exact date of it.
You can see in the video how crazy popular they were. All of the screaming fangirls!
While the DAHLIA album isn’t one of my favourite X JAPAN albums, the song DAHLIA really is amazing. I like the albums Jealousy, ART OF LIFE and BLUE BLOOD more than the album DAHLIA.
Sadly, some parts of the song were cut out of this TV live: The original song is 8 minutes long, opposed to the 5 minutes in this live. The beautiful strings + piano part full of modulations isn’t present for example. Also, not everything seems to have played completely live, I think that there was some playback involved. But only partly, not completely. All of these things are actually because of the rules of music television, not the choice of the band.
I probably won’t be uploading any more X JAPAN. Since the copyrights are still very active, and it would put my channel in danger. This is an exception since it’s a TV recording, so way safer than actual music videos or live DVD’s. Yoshiki has recently been uploading some high quality X JAPAN music videos and lives on his two official channels, so no need for me to do it.
