Approximately 16,000 runners ran down the Miyako-oji Street in warm weather with a maximum temperature of 18.8\u00b0C, similar to early April. Along the route, family and friends cheered at the top of their lungs to encourage the runners who were getting tired towards the end, and celebrities also ran alongside, adding to the excitement of the event. At the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, maiko (apprentice geisha) also cheered on the
