Tashiro is located in the uppermost headwaters area of the Asuwa River. Today only traces such as former house sites and roadside stone figures remain.
Tashiro was established during the Edo period. The population once exceeded 100 people at its peak. Education was provided through the Tashiro Branch of Ikeda First Elementary School: a winter temporary classroom opened in 1911, which later became the branch school, and it closed in 1962. The village became uninhabited in 1971. After depopulation, a campsite as part of the “Kanzan Youth Travel Village” facilities operated here for a time but has since closed.

Previous Visit (Early January 2020): https://youtu.be/0zjdnViE1Zs

Place Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6tYwoho1R4fbeBE87

Date: 17th June 2025
Weather: 33 / 32 °C Passing clouds

🎧 This video contains Binaural Audio.
