Nyuto has trailheads at Kuroyu and Magoroku Onsen (though the trail from Kuroyu Onsen is closed as of 2024.) Location: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/dQ2KqbWV5ThSpJSB8<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re taking mass transit, the nearest station is Tazawako Station on the Akita Shinkansen.<\/p>\n<p>The Senshogahara &#8211; or field of a 1,000 pounds, is located here: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/18DPCVN4pCJ7LysA9<br \/>\nThe nearest trailhead to that location is here: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/DMkJV5QEReFYJXvc9<\/p>\n<p>Mt. Mitsuishi has trail heads here:<br \/>\nOkusando (shortest route): https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/qp9Tntt2dFk2xkmHA<br \/>\nMatsukawa-so: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/pBfjRYknFXiGnVW99<\/p>\n<p>Mt. Mokko near the summit of Hachimantai has a trailhead here: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/rq8nTKxP6GZaTscw8<\/p>\n<p>Akita Komagatake is best hiked from Kunimi Onsen: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/FtkGKoHeNtZzV7wD9<\/p>\n<p>The waterfall depicted is Yasunotaki, which is viewed as the 2nd most beautiful waterfall in Japan. The road there is temporarily closed, but when it reopens, it&#8217;s here: https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/t7fcM9pMk4pEXMPJ7<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a full-time guide, mostly up in Tohoku (northeast Japan) but I also guide groups up Mt.
