Every time it erupts, it creates new craters, like the one that eventually turned into the beautiful Lake Toya! We took the ropeway \ud83d\udea1 up to see the panoramic view of both the lake and the volcano. <\/p>\n<p>We raced to hike the trail \ud83d\udeb6\u200d\u2640\ufe0f at the top to see some of the other craters created by recent eruptions before the ropeway down closed but there are so many stairs, it\u2019s no joke! \ud83d\ude2b Make sure to give yourself enough time if you want to go out to the furthest point and come back. There are also 2 observation decks at the top to admire the view \ud83e\udd29<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude97 Transport: 2h drive from Sapporo to Usuzan Ropeway<br \/>\n\ud83c\udd7f\ufe0f Parking: Available at the ropeway, 500 yen \/ car (cash only)<br \/>\n\ud83d\udea1 Ropeway: 1,800 yen \/ person roundtrip, one-way options also available. Runs every 15 minutes, 6 min ride each way.<br \/>\n\u23f0 Hours: 8:15 AM &#8211; 5:15 PM, but hours may vary on season<br \/>\n\ud83d\udc5f Hiking: The path that goes to the furthest crater takes ~3h roundtrip including the ropeway<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udce2 Stay tuned as we find one of the strangest things in Japan next.<\/p>\n<p>\u2753Have you ever been on a volcano?<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc4b If you\u2019re new here, hi!
