It was a quiet village where people made their living primarily from charcoal production and sericulture. However, times changed\u2014charcoal was replaced by petroleum, and sericulture gave way to other industries. For the sake of the next generation, around 1963 (Showa 38), families began moving one by one to Fukui City and the Harue area. Though this was the flow of the times, we deeply regretted that the village would become abandoned in our generation.
