On the orders of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, Asano Naganori committed seppuku and the Ako domain was confiscated.<\/p>\n<p>Dissatisfied with this, 47 retainers of the Ako domain, including Oishi Kuranosuke, attacked Kira Yoshinaka&#8217;s residence on December 14, 1702, to exact revenge.
