It was designated part of Yanbaru National Park in 2016. From the cape, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the horizon, beautiful coral reefs, and the vast expanse of Bonin blue ocean. The cape also offers a dynamic landscape, eroded by waves, wind, and rain over the years, from the approximately 20-meter-tall limestone rocks formed approximately 250 million years ago. The promenade is home to the Kariyushi Statue (half bird, half fish), a gift from Yoron Town in 2001 as a symbol of friendship, 29 years after Okinawa&#8217;s return to Japan in 1972. The area was once the border, so the monument commemorating Okinawa&#8217;s return to the mainland was erected in 1976. These beloved monuments are a reflection of history, peace, and happiness.
