visit.<br \/>\nIn December 2022, I visited Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbIwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine<\/p>\n<p>This shrine was enshrined at the beginning of the Heian period from Usa Jingu, the head shrine of Hachiman worship.<br \/>\nIt was designated a National Treasure in recognition of its high value as a highly refined shrine building that combines the majestic shrine building style of ancient times with modern decoration.<br \/>\nThe current shrine building was rebuilt by the third Tokugawa Shogun, Iemitsu, and is one of Japan&#8217;s three major Hachimangu shrines, and, along with Ise Grand Shrine, is one of the two main shrines.<br \/>\nIt is the oldest and largest remaining main hall in the Hachiman style.<br \/>\nIt is also known for prayers for warding off evil spirits, and is crowded with worshippers throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine Approach Cable Car<\/p>\n<p>This cable car, which connects Cable Hachimanguguchi Station to Cable Hachimangu Yamagami Station in approximately three minutes, opened in 1955.<br \/>\nFrom the train window, you can enjoy the panoramic views of Kyoto&#8217;s southern countryside, including the Kizu River and Uji River, crossed by the red Keihan Main Line bridge, as well as the Katsura River and Kyoto Racecourse.<\/p>\n<p>The main shrine of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, a National Treasure, is located at the top of the mountain, and is bustling with visitors during the New Year&#8217;s visit.<\/p>\n<p>In November, you can also enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage, including maples.<\/p>\n<p>Operating Hours: 8:00 AM &#8211; 6:15 PM, every 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Fare: 300 yen one way for adults, 150 yen one way for children (double fare
