This is Sakurai. This is the fourth video of my trip to Nasu Shiobara Onsen. This time, I’m going to walk around Shiobara Onsen town and make hot spring eggs at the source . I’ll send you tourist information on footbaths, waterfalls, cafes , and other places in the hot spring town . Please read to the end. First, I’ll try making hot spring eggs at the source. ★ The hotel I stayed at this time , Kounso, has a footbath where you can make hot spring eggs at the source . There is also a table in the footbath, where you can enjoy hot spring shochu and hot spring beer while soaking your feet. Let’s get started! I put it in the source for 30 minutes… and it’s done! I went back to my room and ate it slowly. I’m really bad at cracking the shells , isn’t it? The exquisite soft-boiled eggs and the rich taste of the yolk were incredibly delicious. ♪ Now, let’s move on to a walk around the town. This time, I roughly walked around this area on this map . There are areas lined with houses, and along the river, there is a long promenade with greenery like this , so you can feel close to nature. It seems like it would be a refreshing place to take a morning walk, wouldn’t it? ♪ Along the main street, there is also “Imai-ya Seika,” which sells hot spring manju, which we introduced in the previous video. Right next to the Shiobara Onsen Bus Terminal is the “Shiobara Monogatarikan.” It is an exhibition hall that introduces the culture of Shiobara and the writers who have ties to Shiobara. Behind it is the “Kurenai no Tsuribashi,” which we introduced in the previous video . There is also a corner where you can buy souvenirs, a shop selling soft-serve ice cream, a direct sales store, and a cafe restaurant where you can eat omelet rice made with Nasu Goyo eggs. This is the foot bath at the “Shiobara Monogatarikan.” It’s great to be able to use it casually to relieve the fatigue of walking around the city . There are many places where cold water bubbles up, and the refreshing sound echoes throughout the city. There are many restaurants in the area. A stylish soba restaurant. We had hot spring manju at “Shosendo Honten” on the street. These hot spring manju are unusual in that they contain chestnut paste . There were also many sweets lined up, such as three-colored manju and Fukuume Monaka, which looked very colorful. ♪ Of course, I also bought some as souvenirs. I crossed the Horai Bridge over the Hoki River . There were bamboo lanterns. I didn’t walk there at night, but perhaps the lights were on. The contrails looked beautiful. ♪ As I crossed the Horai Bridge, Myoun-ji Temple came into view. It seems to be popular as the Peony Temple, as colorful peonies bloom in May . Shiobara is a town of hot springs, waterfalls and suspension bridges . I went down this road to Kakinokizaka. I could see Nanagen no Taki waterfall on the other side of the river . I went down the same street as before, but in the opposite direction . Cute illustrations were decorating the town. ♪ Now, on this street is Suzu no Mori Cafe, which I introduced in the Toteyaki taste comparison. There are also many Onsen Musume merchandise lined up next to it. It’s so cute. ♪ They have a wide variety of menu items other than Toteyaki. The terrace by the river at this cafe was really lovely! You can spend a relaxing time listening to the murmur of the river. This strawberry soda was served with strawberry syrup on the side, so you could adjust the sweetness to your liking. It was sweet and sour, and very delicious. There was also a cute bird in the tree in front of us. ★We bought walnut monaka at the neighboring shop, “Eitaro” , which they recommend eating chilled in the summer. We ate it chilled at home, and the slightly salty sweetness and the texture of the walnuts were an addictive taste! We also recommend this shop. Next door is “Fujiya Fruit Cafe” , where you can eat the “Toteyaki Parfait with Soy Milk Cream”, which is filled with luxurious fruit. The “Toteyaki” here was really delicious, so we’d definitely like to go back and eat it again!! There are stone Buddha statues on the slopes and roads of Shiobara Onsen. I was able to find three, but after doing some research, it seems that there are a total of 13 stone Buddha statues in the “Monzen Onsen Area” . It takes about 50 minutes to see all the stone Buddha statues, which were erected to pray for people’s good fortune and good health. It might be a good idea to take a walk around them . This video marks the end of our trip to Nasu Shiobara Onsen for now . Please do visit it too♪ See you in the next video!
