countless famous cherry blossom spots all over Japan, but Temiya Park in Otaru, Hokkaido, is where you can enjoy the view of the sea and the snow-capped mountains at the same time. The cherry blossom front arrives in Otaru from late April to early May, long after the cherry blossoms have long since peaked in Honshu and south. At that time, the Sea of Japan and Ishikari Bay have already turned a summer-like blue, and snow still remains on the mountains. The cherry blossoms at Temiya Park are one of the few spots in the country where you can enjoy the colors of three seasons at the same time. Also, unlike the cherry blossom-lined streets, Temiya Park has a unique landscape with cherry blossoms spreading across the slopes of the hills that are typical of Otaru, a &#8220;city of hills.&#8221; This year, the clear blue sky was added to the peak bloom, creating an unparalleled cherry blossom scene.
