The name literally means ‘seasonal division’, referring to the day just before the first day of spring in the traditional calendar, known as Setsubun; though previously referring to a wider range of possible dates, Setsubun is now typically held on February 3 (in 2021 it was on 2nd February), with the day after – the first day of spring in the old calendar – known as Risshun (立春). Both Setsubun and Risshun are celebrated yearly as part of the Spring Festival (Haru matsuri (春祭)) in Japan. Setsubun was accompanied by a number of rituals and traditions held at various levels to drive away the previous year’s bad fortunes and evil spirits for the year to come.

#japanwalk #kyoto #kyotogeisha #kyotowalk #京都 #節分 #豆撒き#舞妓 #八坂神社 #奉納舞踊 #外国人観光客 #海外の反応 #京都観光

00:00 Before performance
02:00 Geiko and Musicians on Stage
03:00 Opening Blessing + Introduction
05:05 Offering Dance 奉納舞踊
09:45 Bean Scattering Preparation
11:20 Bean Scattering 豆撒き
14:00 Photo Op
15:30 Leaving the Stage
16:50 Crowd Disperses
19:25 Maiko Leaving the Shrine

[4K] 京都節分 宮川町歌舞会 舞と豆まき Kyoto Setsubun Festival – Miyagawacho Maiko Dance Performance + Bean-throwing Set

[144729
283241,283242,283243,283238,88415,283239,283240,33080,161500,315,144951,9332,144949,144950,1517,283237,60688,283244
0":"post-439246","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-kyoto","8":"tag-geiko-performance","9":"tag-geisha-performance","10":"tag-maiko-performance","11":"tag-miyagawacho-kabuki-kai","12":"tag-setsubun","13":"tag-setsubun-kyoto","14":"tag-yakasa-shrine-setsubun","15":"tag-yasaka-shrine","16":"tag-161500","17":"tag-315","18":"tag-144951","19":"tag-9332","20":"tag-144949","21":"tag-144950","22":"tag-1517","23":"tag-283237","24":"tag-60688","25":"tag-283244
["GET
