It is dedicated to the kami Amenokaguyama no Mikoto, great-grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu, who among other things grants good fortune, prosperity in business and success in love when prayed to.<br \/>\nIn November, the cedar-lined avenue leading to the main hall is lined with numerous chrysanthemum stands.<br \/>\nThe chrysanthemum festival &#8211; Kiku Matsuri &#8211; is one of the highlights of the year.
