\/>\n\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<br \/>\nShanwei City, commonly known as Hailufeng, is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, bordering the South China Sea to the south. The city borders Jieyang City to the east, Meizhou City and Heyuan City to the north, and Huizhou City to the west. It is located at the junction of the Pearl River Delta and the coastal hilly area of \u200b\u200beastern Guangdong, 160 kilometers east of Shantou City and 120 kilometers west of Shenzhen City. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. There are Lianhua Mountain Range in the northwest and low mountains and hills and coastal plains in the southeast. Luohe River and Huangjiang River flow from north to south into the South China Sea. The coastline is about 455 kilometers and there are 881 coastal islands of various sizes.<br \/>\nBefore Shanwei was established as a city, it was originally Shanwei Town under Haifeng County. In January 1988, with the approval of the State Council, Shanwei Town, Haifeng County was abolished and Shanwei City at the prefecture level was established to govern the administrative areas of the original Haifeng and Lufeng counties.<br \/>\nThe name of Shanwei comes from the sand ridge line of the sea beach, and the port market is at the end of the sand ridge line, which the locals call &#8220;Line Tail&#8221;. Because the homophony of &#8220;\u7ebf&#8221; in Haifeng dialect is &#8220;\u73ca&#8221;, it is called Shanwei. The origin of its name has nothing to do with Shantou, which is named after the &#8220;Shashantou Fort&#8221;, and is often mistaken by the outside world as belonging to the Chaoshan area.<br \/>\nIn the Neolithic Age 6,000 years ago, our ancestors fished, hunted, and planted here, living and multiplying. &#8220;Yu Gong&#8221; has the theory of nine states, and Shanwei belonged to the southern border of Yangzhou among the nine states; &#8220;Zhou Li\u00b7Xiaguan\u00b7Zhifang&#8221; called it a vassal land; it belonged to the land of Nanyue in the Spring and Autumn Period; it was called Baiyue when it entered Chu during the Warring States Period. From the Qin Dynasty to the early Han Dynasty, the entire territory of Shanwei once belonged to the Nanyue Kingdom, and the area of \u200b\u200bBoluo County in Nanhai County during the Qin and Han
