Different restaurants have their own unique methods and secret recipes, and their servings are often just as delicious eaten cold as take out. For locals, Nakatsu Karaage is an indispensable part of daily life and regional events. For this video, our host embarked on a gourmet tour to taste and compare the many different varieties of Nakatsu Karaage.

To start, our host asked locals around Nakatsu Station for their recommended regular karaage joints. With this information in hand, she then headed out to the following four carefully chosen spots.

The 1st place she visited was Ganso Nakatsu Karaage Moriyama. Its secret sauce has a salt base and garlic flavor, flaunting a deep umami balanced by a clean, refreshing texture that can be enjoyed cold, too. Popular choices include the Boneless Chicken Thighs, Mix of Chicken Thighs and Breasts, Crispy Chicken Skin, and Bone-in Chicken Thighs. Its hefty menu has attracted a dedicated following of regulars.

The 2nd place was Karaichi, adored for its exquisitely balanced and matured sauce made from an assortment of spices, vegetables, and fruits with a rich soy sauce base. Our host recommends the Boneless Mix, which has a strong flavor kick that goes great with rice, as well as the Spicy Garlic Chicken, which boasts five enticing spices.

Karaageno Torishin, the 3rd spot, serves soy sauce-based chicken known for a firm texture that doesn’t dry out or get sticky. In addition to its classic Mix Boneless Chicken Thighs and Breasts, many opt for the mega-sized Bone-in Chicken Thighs. Karaageno Torishin has received the gold award many times in the Western Japan Soy Sauce Division at the Karaage Grand Prix, which is hosted by the Japan Karaage Association.

Finally, our host went to Karaage Kokkoya, which is distinguished by its delicious mild spice. Go-to dishes include crispy Chicken Wings and Chicken Gizzards, as well as its easy-to-eat stick-shaped Spicy Karaage.

We hope this video inspires you to visit Nakatsu City to compare the proud karaage traditions of each store to find your favorite!

——-
Nakatsu City Official Tourism Website▶︎https://honyaku.j-server.com/LUCNAKATSU/ns/tl.cgi/https://www.city%2dnakatsu.jp/?SLANG=ja&TLANG=en&XMODE=0&XCHARSET=utf-8&XJSID=0
Ganso Nakatsu Karaage Moriyama▶︎https://morikara.net
Karaichi▶︎https://www.karaichi.net
Karaageno Torishin▶︎https://nakatsu-karaage.com
Karaage Kokkoya▶︎https://tabelog.com/oita/A4404/A440401/44002855/
大分県観光情報公式サイト / Discover Oita▶︎https://bit.ly/37fTNKx
テッパンおおいた / Teppan Oita▶︎https://bit.ly/2T4LtoU
Explore Oita▶︎https://bit.ly/2HjcFNJ
Weibo 日本大分县旅游局▶https://bit.ly/34XtXJB
大分縣觀光資訊官方網站▶https://bit.ly/2TmDELr
오이타현 관광정보 공식사이트▶https://bit.ly/357H0ag
Tourismoita Instagram▶︎https://bit.ly/347b6vg
Tourism OITA Facebook▶︎https://bit.ly/37hEn8w

#Japan #Kyushu #Oita #ExploreOitaJapan #Tourism #Travel #Experience #Activities #Food #HistoryCulture #Accommodation #Karaage #Chicken

*Subtitles are available in Japanese, English, and Malay.
