Yumeshima Kaido in Kamijima Islands, Ehime, Japan is a hidden cycling paradise in the Seto Inland Sea, captured in cinematic drone footage.

Unlike its famous neighbor, these islands are not connected to the mainland (Honshu) by bridges, preserving a peaceful, authentic “remote island” atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time.
The route connects four islands—Yugeshima, Sashima, Ikinajima, and Iwagijima—via three magnificent bridges. With absolutely no traffic lights, it offers a seamless, liberating experience often described as “gliding over the ocean,” making it a bucket-list destination for cyclists worldwide.

Located in the heart of the Seto Inland Sea, the Kamijima Islands are a remote paradise in Ehime, right next to the famous Shimanami Kaido.
Disconnected from the mainland by bridges, these islands are accessible only by ferry—a “sea journey” that serves as the gateway to this retreat.
The “Yumeshima Kaido” connects four islands via three bridges. With no traffic lights, it is a sacred destination for cyclists.
Linking Yugeshima to the nearby Sashima is the Yuge Bridge (383m), which opened in 1996.
Right before you is Yugeshima, the heart of the islands with about 2,000 residents, thriving on its harbor and shipbuilding industry.
Just beyond is Sashima, a quiet island of a few hundred people, where residential life and nature blend in perfect harmony.
Further in the distance is Ikinajima, home to 1,000 people, reached via the Ikina Bridge (515m) which opened in 2011.
And on the far left, in the distance, lies Iwagijima (pop. 1,800), where the Iwagi Bridge was completed in 2022.
Opening in 1996, the Yuge Bridge was the first to fulfill the islands’ “dreams,” marking the beginning of the Yumeshima Kaido’s history.
With no traffic lights and an endless sea, every bridge crossing brings you to a new island story and a fresh ocean breeze.

愛媛県上島町に位置する「ゆめしま海道」です。
瀬戸内海の「しまなみ海道」に隣接しながらも、本州と橋で繋がっていないからこそ残る、静かで穏やかな離島の情緒。
信号が一つもなく、海の上を滑るように走れるこのルートは、今や世界中のサイクリストにとっての聖地となっています。
弓削島（ゆげしま）、佐島（さしま）、生名島（いきなじま）、そして2022年に全線開通の最後を飾った岩城島（いわぎじま）。
3つの橋が紡いできた歴史と、島民の強い絆が生んだ絶景を、どうぞ空からの視点でお楽しみください。

ここは瀬戸内海の中央、愛媛県・上島諸島。しまなみ海道の東に隣接する、離島の楽園です。
本州とは橋で繋がっていないこの島々。因島などからフェリーで渡る「船旅」が玄関口です。
4つの島を3つの橋で結ぶ「ゆめしま海道」は、信号がなく、サイクリストに愛される聖地です。
弓削島と、すぐ先の佐島を繋ぐのは、1996年開通の弓削大橋（383m）です。
目の前に広がるのが弓削島（ゆげしま）。人口約2,000人、港と造船が盛んな上島諸島の中心地です。
その先に見える佐島は、数百人が暮らす静かな島。住宅地と自然が優しく調和しています。
さらに奥に見える人口約千人の生名島（いきなじま）へと続く、2011年開通の生名橋（515m）です。
そして一番左奥、遠くに望むのが人口約1,800人の岩城島。2022年、岩城橋が架かりました。
1996年に開通したこの弓削大橋は、島々の「夢」を形にした、ゆめしま海道の歴史の始まりです。
信号一つない道、遮るもののない海。橋を渡るたびに、島の物語と新しい風に出会えます。
