  1. Hello! How sad! It's truly necessary to incentivize young people to move to cities where the population is aging. An incentive or work program for fishing, rice farming, tourism! Don't just let them be abandoned!😢💪🎣🍚🍙⛩️🌄🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. This city is literally the definition of tranquility. It really feels like time has stood still there. Thank you for the great video !

  3. I'm a small-town guy who studied in a big city, but I'm back. The small-town vibe is unmistakable. Fortunately, my town is constantly developing, is close to one of the largest resorts in Poland, and many more people are settling here than leaving.

  4. The inn is gorgeous, the city is so tranquil..I really enjoy your video..please do more visits to random small towns in Japan to promote them! Im sure there are many visitors who would be interested in going to places off the beaten paths like these to experience a different side of Japan.

  5. 昔、ウミガメの名前を冠したトライアスロン大会で行きました。
    のどかなところですね。

  6. Pauvres animaux, on dirait qu’ils sont abandonnés…😢😢faites quelque chose svp

  7. Calming, interesting and somewhat unexpected video about Hiwasa. At first glance, the town, with its shutdown main street, seems like a story of unmitigated decline, but the Ohenro pilgrims and the return of a few of the residents for a slower life hint at something more. Some of the images, e.g., 30:38, are like gorgeous paintings. And, as usual, there’s the engaging, amiable “voice” in the captions.

I’ve been inspired to get a similar Hamilton watch, BTW. That jubilee watch band is stunningly elegant.

Caption hint: Put a space between the preceding word and the left parenthesis.
ex. Futon(Japanese mattress to make on floor) → Futon (Japanese mattress to make on floor)
    ↑ here
It will look a lot better (less “crowded”) and more natural. (That’s not necessary with Japanese punctuation marks because they’re full width but it is with Latin-based punctuation marks, which are only half-width.)

  8. 徳島、穏やかな感じでいいですねー。ご飯も美味しそうですね✨
    ありがとう☺

  9. What a charming town, so happy you picked it to visit and share. I hope one day you might visit a little spot I would love to visit, Kawasu, and share it with us (as I will probably never get there myself). Thank you!

  12. That ancient electrical outlet was crackalackin'! So old school…Haven't seen that since I was in Japan in 1969! LOL! } I used to collect the pregnant sea turtles when they were spreading out and have them lay in bins and then take the eggs back to incubate them safely…fewer were eaten by the seagulls that way, and then I'd release them when they started hatching. Did that in Florida as well. They need stewards to thrive with all of the seabirds around.

  13. I live on a lake and the turtle population has gone down here too. To many critters keep eating the eggs I think. Great video! I love that little town.👍🏻😊

  14. Having grown up in Tokyo during the bustling and energetic Showa period, it is sad to see so much of rural Japan fading into memory.

  15. "Please drive a bit slower! The view is too beautiful to miss."thank you.
    watching from New Zealand👍🇳🇿
