【Driving in Japan】National Route 151 : Anan – Iida, Nagano [Insta 360 Ace Pro 4K60P]
National Route 151 is a major highway that runs from Iida City in Nagano Prefecture through the mountainous region of Aichi Prefecture (Oku-Mikawa region) to Toyohashi City. In addition to its mission of connecting regions, it also functions as a “lifeline” connecting the mountain villages of Southern Shinshu and the Oku-Mikawa region, playing an important role in promoting industry and supporting local life.
This time, I drove the entire route from its end point in Toyohashi City to its start point in Iida City. Because the recording was long, I will be releasing it in several videos.
The fourth and final video shows the section from Anan Town in Nagano Prefecture to Iida City. This is an important route connecting towns and villages in the Shimoina region of Nagano Prefecture.
This area is not particularly mountainous, but you can see that it has very rugged terrain. There used to be narrow sections, but these were improved to two-lane roads in the 1980s.
Towards the end of the video, the route enters the urban area of Iida City. Traffic volume increases and traffic flow becomes slower, but there were no noticeable congestions.

9:03 右側に「ようこそ下条村へ 峰隆太のふるさと」の看板があります。ちなみに 14:52 を右折すると、峰さんの実家の酒屋さんがありますが、峰隆太オリジナルワインなんてのも販売しているそうですよ。そして、前回にもコメントしましたが良い道になりましたね。ときどき現れる橋の手前に旧道の入口が残されていますが、満足に離合もできないような酷道でしたよ。
前回に続いて国道151号の長野県内区間ですね。愛知県側から続いた山越え区間が終わり、この辺りからは市街地を通り抜ける地方の国道らしい雰囲気の２車線区間で交通量もありますが、割と流れていますね。
終盤、国道153号バイパスとの交差地点より先の飯田市街地区間は国道256号の単独区間かと思っていましたが、飯田駅付近まで国道151号の単独区間が続いているのは意外と知りませんでした。
