Trip&train Travel and Train Channel Naruko Onsenkyo, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture This time we’ll be introducing three carefully selected facilities in Naruko Onsenkyo, the Yokozuna of the East. Higashi Taganoyu and Nishi Tagano Ryokan are next to each other, about a five-minute walk from Naruko Onsen Station , but this time we’ll be bathing at Nishi Tagano Ryokan. This is a very unusual green-white hot spring, and there is no shower or anything like that, it’s just a facility for soaking. It smells of sulfur and a little like petroleum, and the fine hot spring deposits form a curtain and float, giving it a smooth feeling that makes you not want to get out of the tub. It’s a sulfur-containing sodium bicarbonate spring and sulfate spring, and it’s an incredibly comfortable hot spring. By the way, Higashi Taganoyu, right next door, looks like this, and although it’s right next door compared to Google, it has a completely different source. It’s just one train stop away Takatomo Ryokan, located within walking distance from Naruko Gotenyu Station, is said to be a hot spring that rustic hot spring enthusiasts dream of. While that sounds nice, it may seem like a rundown inn to the average person, and even to those unfamiliar with it, it looks abandoned. Inside, it’s like this, and if you want to put it nicely, it’s a historic facility. Going down a long corridor, you’ll find the entrance to the famous Kuroyu hot spring (mixed bath). There’s a simple changing room . The bathroom has a distinctive tar-like smell, and as the name suggests, it’s a nearly black hot spring. It’s a sulfur-containing sodium bicarbonate spring, a high-tension, neutral hot spring, and the surprising black water is hard to tell, but it looks like this. The facilities are a bit off, but it’s a truly unique hot spring. Then, take the train one stop further to Fujishima Ryokan, where the station is pronounced Kawatabi Onsen. The building is old, but has a charming, elegant atmosphere. It’s a so-called Showa-era retro large bath and a medium bath, and this is the medium bath. It has a lovely stained-glass interior, a large tub with plenty of hot water, and a sulfur-containing sodium bicarbonate spring. It’s brownish, but from a little distance it looks green. It’s a smooth, soft hot spring. So, thank you for watching.
