【8HOTEL湘南藤沢】サウナ好きに愛されるサウナとプールが魅力のリーズナブルなホテル【神奈川/藤沢/ホテル紹介/ホテル宿泊記】
Thank you for watching. This is Yusuke’s Travel! We’ll start from the ticket gates at Fujisawa Station on the Odakyu Line. Watching this video all the way through will help you understand the appeal of 8HOTEL Shonan Fujisawa, so please enjoy it to the end, even if you’re multitasking. For now, let’s head to the south exit of Fujisawa Station. This channel introduces hotels offering great value for money, as well as slightly more luxurious options. If you enjoy domestic travel or hotel stays, please subscribe! This hotel is located about a 3-minute walk from Fujisawa Station on various lines. As it’s the gateway to Shonan, it’s bustling with people almost year-round. By the way, Fujisawa Station is served by the JR Tokaido Line, the Odakyu Line, and the Enoshima Electric Railway Line. When you see the OPA shopping complex, take this road next to it. We’ll proceed down this street. I’d like to stay at one of the hotels along this route someday. There are many restaurants in this area, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding somewhere to eat. Turn left at the intersection with the FamilyMart and keep going. It’s nice to have so many convenience stores nearby. I’m also curious about that hotel on the left. I kind of want to try staying at every hotel in Fujisawa. Well, the hotel is coming into view now. The place I’m visiting this time is the ‘8HOTEL Shonan Fujisawa’ located here. A certain YouTuber visited recently too. I plan to enjoy my one night here to the fullest! A tuk-tuk was displayed at the hotel entrance. Looks like the hotel building is further back. On the way to the hotel interior, there was also a trailer. Let’s check it out later! This is the hotel building entrance. You can already sense the stylish vibe. Let’s head inside right away. A surfboard at the entrance. Alright, let’s check in. Check-in procedures at the reception desk. This time, we’re staying in a room with lounge access! We also got breakfast vouchers. Looking forward to seeing what it’s like! This time, the accommodation plan included a lottery. Events like this are also well-organized. And since it’s a plan that guarantees one spa session, the spa is also available! I’m so excited about the spa here! Check-in procedures are all complete, and we received everything. This is the first-floor elevator hall. It’s right next to us. The type that requires you to swipe your card key. Information about swimsuit rentals inside the elevator, and so on. The hotel itself is a 12-story building. The club floor seems to be on the 11th and 12th floors. This time, I got a room on the 12th floor. This is the elevator lobby on the guest floor. And the hallway. At first glance, you might mistake it for the 8th floor. The room assigned to me this time: 1202. This is a Club Floor Standard Room. Let’s head inside! Insert your key card into the card pocket right inside the door, and let the room tour begin! We’re inside the room. This wall texture is so stylish…! Here’s the location of this room and the evacuation route. Now, let’s go inside. This is the Standard Room. At 12 square meters, it’s not spacious, but it’s compactly designed. Looking west from the hotel, you get a wide view. Since it’s Fujisawa, there are many residential areas. The bed is 125cm wide, about a semi-double size. Nightwear is also provided. The nightwear was a one-piece style. The TV was a Mitsubishi model. There was no hotel menu, and it wasn’t a smart TV either. A prominent light fixture was also positioned very close to the bed. Two pillows. There was no particular difference here. The usual bed check. Sheets, bed pad, and so on… The mattress used was Thomas-Symonds’ Beautyrest. Next, let’s check out the desk area. Starting from the back of the desk. There’s a room phone, writing utensils, power outlet, and LAN port. A Delonghi electric kettle. Eco Cleaning Notice. Glasses and mugs. Next, please take this. Stand light. I couldn’t figure out how to turn this one on. Survey QR code. The remote control and a foldable stand mirror. Inside this drawer is a paper bag. The refrigerator. Opening it revealed drinks inside. These were the drinks brought from the lounge. What I received at check-in. A bathrobe for the spa, with an 8 on the chest. Here are the other items besides the bathrobe. Here’s the card key. It uses a pop font and is really cute. Card key for the lounge. This is the hotel information and such. Then there’s the breakfast voucher and so on. Lounge information, hotel guide QR codes, and Wi-Fi connection details. Wi-Fi speeds are quite fast: 179Mbps download and 91Mbps upload. Breakfast voucher. Discount ticket for the hotel sauna goods, a perk of the plan. Also included was a lottery ticket. It was a drink gift. This was the spa usage guide. Be sure to read it carefully before using the facilities. I couldn’t show it earlier, but here’s what I brought from the amenity bar on the first floor. The skincare products are from the SALOHA series. They have a mango scent. Back near the room entrance. Let’s check this out. Below the card key pocket is the light switch. Blankets on the closet shelf. Plenty of stylish hangers. The disinfectant and deodorizing spray is Resesh Disinfectant EX. Shoe horns and such. The hair dryer is over here. It was a Panasonic Ionity. Slippers at your feet. Now you’re ready for the spa. The full-length mirror is over here. This door next to the full-length mirror. It was a unit bath. Honestly, I’m not a fan, but well, there’s nothing to be done about that. Bath towels and face towels are on the wall. It also had a Washlet, and the paper holder was a two-roll type. 8 Original hotel cup. There’s a toothbrush too. Kao Success bath amenities. Hotel original bath amenities. The hand soap was also the hotel’s original brand. The showerhead has a stopper function. The bath mat and bathtub. Well, it’s a fairly standard size, I guess. You can’t really stretch your legs out. Now, let’s introduce some other rooms. First up is the Superior Twin Room on the Club Floor. The theater room on the same club floor. Looks fun to lounge around in bed watching movies or videos! The Twin Room on the Club Floor. Looks like a great place to relax. The king room on the club floor. This room looks nice too. Now to the standard room. This one features a private sauna room where you can enjoy the sauna. Double Room. This room appears to be barrier-free. Standard Room. This is the same type of room I stayed in this time. Business Room. This room does not include breakfast, and check-out is at 9:00 AM. This isn’t from lunch that day, but here’s a recommended restaurant near the hotel. It’s ‘Chuka Taishin’, a popular Chinese restaurant representing Fujisawa. Established over 50 years ago, it’s so popular that lines form even on weekdays. Since I visited in summer, they also had cold noodle dishes like chilled Chinese noodles and chilled tantanmen. After waiting about 10 minutes, I got inside. The menu looked like this. Fried rice is the star here, totally get it. Sometimes you just crave the fried rice from a neighborhood Chinese joint. The kitchen always looks super busy. The restaurant was packed too. By the way, that guy making the gyoza is really buff! There were also lots of autographs hanging on the wall. My entire order has arrived! Don’t blame me if I overindulge! This is the Wonton Noodles for 930 yen. Packed with wontons—what a treat! This is the Half Fried Rice for 580 yen. Special Gyoza, 6 pieces for ¥500. They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside—delicious! The ramen noodles look like this. Thin, straight noodles! And the wontons. Slippery and chewy! The fried rice was perfectly fluffy, of course. It was really delicious! It’s super close, just about a minute walk from the hotel, and it stays open until 4:00 AM, so it’s perfect when you get a little hungry! Speaking of Chinese food, let me introduce another place! This is ‘Aji no Kokuya’, one of Fujisawa’s representative local Chinese restaurants. Here’s what the inside of the store looks like. It’s around 2 PM on a weekday, and it’s bustling with lots of customers. So, our orders have arrived! We both got similar things! Half-size ramen for 530 yen. Compared to Daishin, this feels like a more classic ramen. Gyoza (6 pieces) 360 yen. Reasonably priced, and they’re chewy and juicy! Fried Rice: 840 yen. This time I tried the regular size. The soup is substantial too. These are medium-thick straight noodles. Since it’s also fairly close to the hotel, definitely consider this one too! Next, we’ll introduce the hotel facilities. The tuk-tuk at the entrance. Apparently, they used to offer an experience service where you could ride this. This camping trailer is actually a private rental space! The private space is available for ¥3,000 per hour and accommodates up to 10 people. It’s nice that it’s relatively affordable. I stepped inside the trailer. It seems you can also enjoy the course meals from the hotel restaurant, 8LOUNGE, here. If you’re interested, be sure to inquire. Stylish art adorns the walls inside the facility. The spa, one of the hotel’s highlights, is also featured here. I’ll introduce it later! The hotel entrance. The 8LOUNGE is also located further inside. Step inside, and surfboards greet you. Beyond the entrance, you’ll find tons of autographs from international surfers and celebrities! And right in front of that is this. Hotel original swimwear and other items are available for purchase. Stickers, towels, sauna mats, and sauna bags featuring the hotel logo. We sell various items like beach sandals and sauna hats. You can also purchase them at the hotel’s official online shop. Next to it is a refrigerator. There’s also the hotel’s original beer. The welcome drink, oolong tea, was also provided. There were also many autographs here. This is the view of the lobby from the elevator hall. This is the reception area. Spa bathrobes are lined up in large quantities. This is the elevator lobby. Here you’ll find the amenity bar, which I didn’t mention earlier. Hairbrush, razor, body towel, mouthwash. A skincare set and Tea Earth black tea were also lined up. Now, we’ve arrived on the 4th floor. Opening this door reveals… a kitchen! It’s exclusively for guests and available for free use. Pot lids, tongs, and such. There’s also a sink, so please wash everything clean after use. On the wall are cutting boards, frying pans, and pots. There’s also an IH stove. Looks like you can cook properly here. The drawers also contain paper cups, turners, and other items. Notes on using the kitchen. An ice maker you can use freely. There’s also a microwave underneath. Stockpot, kettle. And now, changing floors to the 6th floor. Right inside the entrance, there’s a trouser press. This is the laundry room. Washing machines cost 300 yen per load, and dryers cost 100 yen for 30 minutes. We’ve arrived on the 11th floor. The bar lounge, accessible only to guests staying in rooms with lounge access privileges. Let’s head inside right away. This is the interior of the bar lounge. It feels like a regular room that’s been remodeled, but it’s spacious enough. An infinity-shaped neon light adorns the wall. A desk and chair sit by the window. USB charging ports and power outlets are also provided on both sides. A sofa and coffee table too. This is the bar counter. There’s an ice maker underneath too. Next to the counter is a refrigerator. Feel free to drink anything inside, and you can even take drinks back to your room! Glasses on the shelf are limited to one per person. There are alcoholic beverages too. This is a great service that’s available almost throughout your stay! And there are several Monin syrups lined up too. Let’s get started right away. Fill it up with ice. Since I’m not great with alcohol, I’ll use Monin syrup. I’ll try the pineapple syrup! This much should be fine, right? I’ll grab the Wilkinson sparkling water from the fridge. Pop it open. Pour some sparkling water into the glass from earlier… Once you’ve poured plenty, use the stirrer provided to mix it up! All done! Let’s take it to our room and drink it. It’s really convenient that we can use this pretty much throughout our stay, right? Dinner time has arrived. I ordered room service from the 8LOUNGE on the first floor. This is the Cheddar Cheese Burger, priced at ¥1,480. For an additional ¥200, you can upgrade it to a potato set! This is the Spice Grilled Chicken, 1,080 yen. It had good flavor and was quite tasty, but I think it’s quite spicy. If you don’t handle spice well, you might want to skip it. The potatoes are pretty standard. You might find yourself wanting ketchup. And the burger was super delicious! You should definitely try it too! Alright, let’s change and head to the spa! Pick up your key at the reception a little before your appointment time. The spa is on the second floor of the hotel. Inside here is the spa, ‘8WATER CAVE’. Let’s head right in. Right inside the entrance is a vending machine. This is available for anyone to use. Electronic payments are also accepted. Right in front of the vending machine, plenty of ice is available. Beyond this door is the paid spa area! This is the swimsuit-required spa area, ‘8WATER CAVE swim suits spa’. Since swimsuits are required, men and women can enter together. Open the door ahead to find hooks labeled with numbers. Hang your bathrobe and slippers on the hook matching your key’s number. Further ahead, you’ll find lockers. Store your valuables here. This is the main area of the spa. It’s nice that photography is welcome here as long as it doesn’t bother others around you! This is the cold bath. This is the warm bath. The jacuzzi feature is a nice little bonus. Is that… something for playing in the pool? And this largest one is the heated pool. It’s not deep, but you could probably do some light swimming! At the back, there was wall art and benches. This seems like a good spot to leave your stuff and enjoy the pool. Next to the cold plunge pool, there’s also a shower. And this spa also has a sauna! Be sure to read the notice at the entrance! Sauna mats are also provided. There’s also a shower right in front of the sauna. Bath amenities are provided, so you can even give yourself a quick wash here. Let’s head through this door labeled TOTONOI SPACE. Up the stairs… It was a well-organized space, just as the name suggests. It’s quite spacious! There was a notice too, but since this is outside, please don’t make too much noise. Well then, enough with the introductions—let’s enjoy the spa a bit! Back at the spa. Before I knew it, there was a ceiling fan. True to its name, CAVE has a real cave-like feel, doesn’t it? Alright, let’s get in the pool. Would you believe it? This pool has water features that move around periodically! The lighting colors also change rapidly every few seconds, so you might enjoy it more if you film it. This is what it looks like right underneath the water feature. The whole place seems super Instagrammable, so it’s perfect for taking photos and videos with friends. I couldn’t help but wonder what the sauna interior looks like. As you can see, it’s quite spacious, so it should accommodate multiple groups without any issues. And you can do self-löyly too! Great news for sauna lovers! Since I was alone, I didn’t hold back with the löyly! There were cute little decorative objects scattered around the sauna room too. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna. After sweating it out and taking a cold plunge, I relaxed in the warm bath. Used towels seem to be collected here. And the locker key goes into this pipe. Well, I’ll head back to my room, take a shower, and get some sleep. Good night. Good morning! The morning has arrived! It’s a nice day, I slept well. Let’s head downstairs to the first floor for breakfast. Breakfast is served here at the ‘8 LOUNGE’ on the hotel’s first floor. We head inside the restaurant to check in right away. Handed over our breakfast tickets at the counter and received trays and plates in exchange, completing check-in. Seating is open. Let’s head straight to the buffet counter. Let’s start checking out this counter first. Here, the cutlery is lined up. This is curry. Looks delicious. White rice. Orange jam, strawberry jam, butter. Curry accompaniments. Let’s look at another counter. Water and orange juice. Hot coffee. Honey. Yogurt, fruit punch. Ganmo tofu with green beans, okra dressed in sesame sauce. Natto. Green salad, glass noodles. Yulin chicken, shumai, scrambled eggs. Caesar dressing, grated vegetable dressing. There was also sliced bread. Here are the dishes we brought. I brought a well-rounded selection overall. While the number of dishes wasn’t huge, every single one was delicious. As usual, I mixed the yogurt and fruit punch together! I also had a good helping of curry! At 8 LOUNGE, we also host BBQs and other events besides breakfast. They also host private parties. Well, that was delicious! It’s bittersweet, but it’s time to check out. How did you like the ‘8HOTEL Shonan Fujisawa’? Fujisawa thrives as the gateway to Kamakura and Shonan, popular tourist destinations in southern Kanagawa Prefecture. This highly recommended hotel is super convenient, whether you’re using it as a base for fun or as a hub for sightseeing. The spa costs ¥2,000 per person for a 90-minute session, but I personally recommend booking one of the package plans! Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for… the prices! Booking through Yahoo! Travel for a Tuesday stay, it was ¥10,625 per person per night with breakfast included. This price reflects the immediate use of 1,875 points. Thank you so much for watching until the end! I hope this was helpful in choosing a hotel or gave you a little taste of what it’s like to stay there. See you in the next video! This has been Yusuke’s Travel! I hope this helps you in choosing your next hotel. Subscribing, giving thumbs-up, turning on notifications, and sharing with friends and family really encourages me! I’ll keep introducing great value hotels, hot spring inns, and slightly more luxurious hotels around ¥30,000 per person per night including one meal… So please look forward to the next one! ☻ Yusuke’s Travel
