【四国 4days】旧日本海軍、最後の戦闘機「紫電改」・愛媛県の最南端へ!
Welcome to the main story ! Hello from Onihoku Town, day two of my Shikoku trip. Today, I’m heading to the southernmost tip of Ehime Prefecture. It feels far from Kansai. I hope to enjoy today without any accidents or violations. First, I came to see the monument of the beautiful demon. Onihoku Town’s symbol, Yuzukihime, is 5 meters tall and weighs approximately 700 kg. She has the power to grant three wishes: “safety in the home,” “marriage,” and “easy childbirth.” Other: Her kimono is the color of yuzu, and her light blue obi evokes the clear waters of the Hiromi River. This is today’s route. Today’s distance traveled is approximately 100 km. This is my first visit to this area in 25 years, so I’m looking forward to it. I like the atmosphere of the town of Uwajima. I’ll have lunch in Uwajima City. I arrived at a restaurant. Apparently, the parking lot is in the back. This is the parking lot. Hozumi-tei serves Uwajima local cuisine, including sea bream rice. Order via touch panel. Of course, I ordered Uwajima Taimeshi. Uwajima Taimeshi is one of the most well-known local dishes in Uwajima. It’s said to have originated on a boat by the Iyo Navy, based on Hiburi Island. Fresh sea bream sashimi is mixed with sauce and raw egg, then poured over hot rice. This unique bowl dish, featuring raw sea bream, is unique to Uwajima. First, lightly stir the ingredients. Then, serve the rice in a bowl. Place the sea bream sashimi on top. Add sauce to taste and it’s done! The deliciousness is evident even before you eat it. Cheers to the delicious meal ! I ordered Onijakoten. Onijakoten is a fish cake made with fresh minced fish, characterized by its thick, juicy texture. It was a very satisfying lunch at Hozumitei, a restaurant frequented by celebrities . We arrived at the southernmost town in Ehime Prefecture. It’s approximately 37km from our current location to our goal, Cape Takamo. First, we head to the Shiden Kai Exhibition Hall. The weather was beautiful, and the coastal road was perfect. A sign for the Shiden Kai Exhibition Hall appeared. We soon arrived at the hall. It’s an Ehime Prefectural facility, and admission is free. The Shiden Kai Exhibition Hall in Ainan Town, Ehime Prefecture, currently displays the only remaining Shiden Kai in Japan. The 343rd Sword Unit was an elite fighter unit formed by the Imperial Japanese Navy in Matsuyama, Shikoku, towards the end of World War II. Until the end of the war, the Shiden Kai was the main force in the air defense of the Japanese mainland. This aircraft was salvaged from the seabed 45 years ago on July 14, 1979. On July 24, 1945, 21 Shiden Kais took off from Omura Air Base in Nagasaki Prefecture to intercept U.S. aircraft that bombed Hiroshima and Kure. They engaged in combat with U.S. aircraft over the Bungo Channel. However, during this battle, six of the 21 Shiden Kai aircraft never returned to base and were never heard from again. It is believed that one of these aircraft was the salvaged Shiden Kai. Therefore, the exhibition hall also displays photographs of all the pilots of the six aircraft that never returned. After a moment of silence for the war dead , our next destination for the day was our final stop. We drove approximately 18km from the Shiden Kai Exhibition Hall to Takamo Cape. We soon arrived at Takamo Cape. Takamo Cape is located at the southernmost tip of Ehime Prefecture, with cliffs over 100m high. Covered in lush subtropical vegetation, on clear days you can even see Kyushu in the distance. There’s also a free campsite. The sunsets are beautiful. Tonight, we’ll stay at a nostalgic inn that evokes the feeling of old Japan. We’re almost there. We arrived. Room only, 4,500 yen. It ‘s clean, spacious, and affordable! The tatami mats are amazing. We head to a nearby restaurant. It’s the season for the pleasant sounds of insects. It’s an 8-minute walk from the inn. Draft beer is here. Drinking beer from a mug while toasting is the best! I’m happy that the sea bream and rice set meal comes with chawanmushi for 1,650 yen. Good evening. Sea bream and rice for lunch and dinner. I’m so happy. Second beer. Sea bream and rice is so delicious. This marks the end of the second day. Thank you for your hard work. See you tomorrow!

おはようございます
hello from France ( as always…!)
Another magnificent video, with so much to see (landscapes, dishes, history).
What wonderful images!
And above all, thank you for introducing us to Japanese cuisine (I understand you like sea bream!!).
(I prefer yakitori or omorice with Heineken 0.00 beer… mmm!)😋
You should try this beer, you'll love it! (It's so refreshing!)
concerningb the landscape, I'm always surprise that they remind me , France so much !!
( specially the forest scene ..)
I was very impressed by the landscapes of Cape Komo, the cliffs are so steep!
They look like the back of a sleeping dragon that you could walk on.
And Finally, thank you for this emotional moment, where you evoked the fate of these brave pilots.
The Americans recognised them as such, too.
I am happy to see that in Japan, too, the younger generation has worked to accept what happened during the Second World War, without hiding it or feeling ashamed…
So, thank you once again for this wonderful moment, I enjoyed watching it all.
ありがとうございます
