Uryu Town, Hokkaido September 2025 Driving to Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park on Prefectural Route 432 September 2025 Uryu Town, Hokkaido Driving to Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park on Prefectural Route 432, Shokanbetsu Uryu Station Line Thank you for watching as always We are heading to Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park, the trailhead, to see Uryu Numa Wetland This is footage from Oshiraka Dam Lake (Oshiraka Dam) Oshiraka Dam in Uryu Town → The section of Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park is the mountain road zone of Prefectural Route 432. From here, the road to the unexplored area begins. The road narrows and becomes dirt from here. After passing the dam, you suddenly enter the forest. The green of the trees on both sides makes it look like a tunnel. It is a road where it is difficult to pass oncoming vehicles, and there are occasional turning areas. It is quite a difficult road to travel on an on-road motorcycle. This is an almost uncut video, so if you are in a hurry, please watch it at double speed on YouTube. There are many curves, so drive carefully. This video was taken around 6:45 in the morning, but there are no oncoming vehicles. Keep right here. Prefectural Route 432 is a prefectural road with a total length of 21.3 km. Starting point: Kokuryo, Uryu Town, Uryu District, Hokkaido End point: 7th Ward, Uryu Town, Uryu District, Hokkaido (former JNR Sapporo-Numa Line) (Remains of Uryu Station) This road was designated as a route in 1962 and originally called the “Ageo Shirarika Uryu Station Line.” In 1969, the name was changed to the “Shokanbetsu Uryu Station Line.” Occasionally, you’ll see parked cars. The Oshirika River flows to the right of the road. I suspect it’s a car belonging to someone out fishing. The Oshirika River is a first-class river tributary of the Ishikari River that flows near the border between Shintotsukawa Town, Kabato District, and Uryu Town, Uryu District, Hokkaido. Its source is Mount Minamishokan (near the border between Shintotsukawa Town and Uryu Town). Eventually, it joins the Ishikari River in Takikawa City. Occasionally, there are paved roads, but there are paved roads where you can pass oncoming vehicles. Paved roads can be hot . From here, the road is unpaved again. Be careful of bumps as you drive. There are hairpin turns. Back to paved roads , and then back to dirt. Until now, it was cloudy, but the sky is clearing up! It looks like it will be a perfect day for hiking. The morning sunshine is streaming in, making for a pleasant drive. At the fork here, keep to the right. It’s hard to tell from the screen, but it’s an uphill climb. Oshirika Dam, near the starting point, is at full capacity and is approximately 151.5m above sea level. Gate Park is at approximately 540m above sea level. The elevation rises rapidly as you drive. Be careful of bumps. The road is paved again . Once you reach this point, Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park is just around the corner. You have arrived at the Uryu Numa Wetland Gate Park trailhead parking lot. This is the entrance to Uryu Numa Wetland. The climb to Uryu Numa Wetland will be posted after this video is released.
