日本で一番早いと言われる北海道大雪山の紅葉は9月中旬から9月下旬に見頃を迎え、針葉樹の緑とナナカマド、カエデなどの落葉、広葉樹の朱色や黄色の絶妙な色合いで山全体を彩ります。特に赤岳登山口の標高約1500メートルに位置する銀泉台は、赤岳の山麓から流れる滝(銀河の滝)の源流と考えられていることに名前が由来し、紅葉の名所として登山家たちによく知られています。
The autumn leaves of Hokkaido’s Taisetsuzan mountain range, said to be the earliest in Japan, reach their peak from mid- to late September, painting the entire mountain with the exquisite shades of green from conifers, deciduous leaves such as rowan and maple, and the vermilion and yellow of broad-leaved trees. Ginsendai, located at an altitude of about 1,500 meters at the trailhead for Akadake, is particularly well-known among climbers as a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves, as it is thought to be the source of a waterfall (Ginga no Taki) that flows from the foot of Akadake.
