三春ダムは、田村郡三春町に建設された多目的ダム。ダム湖の名前は「さくら湖」。面積は、東京ドーム約60個分（2.9平方キロメートル）あります。水害を防ぐための洪水調節やかんがい用水補給、水道用水供給、工業用水確保に加え、水力発電を行うなど、さまざまな役割で人々の暮らしを支えています。三春ダムのある三春町は、春に梅、桃、桜が同時に開花することから、「三つの春」が訪れる「三春」の地名となりました。ダム近くにある、樹齢千年を超えると言われる「三春の滝桜」など、ダム周辺には見どころがたくさんあり、家族連れにも人気のスポットになっています。
Miharu Dam is a multi-purpose dam constructed in Miharu-cho, Tamura-gun. The dam lake is named “Sakura Lake. It has an area of 2.9 square kilometers, about 60 times the size of the Tokyo Dome. The dam plays a variety of roles in supporting people’s lives, including flood control to prevent flood damage, irrigation water supply, water supply for waterworks, securing water for industrial use, and hydraulic power generation. Miharu-cho, where the Miharu Dam is located, is named “Miharu” (meaning “three springs” in Japanese) because plum blossoms, peach blossoms, and cherry blossoms bloom simultaneously in spring. There are many sights to see around the dam, including the Miharu-no-taki cherry trees near the dam, which are said to be over 1,000 years old, making the area a popular spot for families.
