軽井沢Vlog🌿夏の避暑地で緑あふれるカフェに癒される1日☕️

This time, I’m sharing a summer day in Karuizawa during my trip back to Japan 🍃 Karuizawa has always been one of my favorite places to visit with my family. While many places in Japan are hotter than Thailand in summer 🎐,
the cool air and nature here were so refreshing. First stop: a historic café tucked away at the end of the Old Karuizawa shopping street. Spotted a squirrel 🐿️! I followed the map, but couldn’t find the entrance. lol Google Maps showed a path next to the tennis court,
but the entrance was actually down a narrower street further ahead. 👀 It started drizzling, and it felt a bit chilly even in long sleeves. 😳 I usually prefer heat over cold, but this refreshing feeling made me happy 🥹🍃 This café is a renovated villa from the Meiji era,
and it’s registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. I thought I’d get wet so I sat inside,
but the counter seats had a roof and looked really nice too. 🍃 For the first time in a while, I ordered hot tea without hesitation ☺️🫖 This apple cake was absolutely delicious—such a treat! ✨ Just the delicate flavor I was craving… pure happiness. The retro, calming atmosphere was so cozy—what a lovely café. Right in front of the café was the villa where poet and novelist Murō Saisei once lived, now a memorial museum. Entry was free. It’s small in scale but beautifully maintained—such a serene Japanese-style space. The lush greenery was beautiful, but I bet the autumn leaves would be stunning too. Now we’re in the Naka-Karuizawa area. This complex was built only about two years ago. Amid the lush forest, there are bookstores, cafés, and a variety of facilities scattered around. I thought you could camp here, but… Turns out it’s actually a stylish rental space. 😳 I wanted to eat at the soba restaurant on the grounds, but it was full—so sad 🥹 Instead, we stopped by the large book café for a break ☕️ The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air ☕️ The whole building is filled with the warmth of wood, even the call number plates are wooden—so cute. (So much for craving soba 🤣) Drawn in by its looks, I tried this dessert for the first time.
It’s a traditional French pastry called Puits d’Amour. A flaky pastry shell filled with custard cream,
topped with a caramelized crust—exactly my kind of sweet 🥹♡ The big windows let in so much light and offer a beautiful view—it felt amazing 🍃 Along the window, there was a lovely selection of curated food and kitchen goods. Everything looked so cute! (I really wanted that tin…) The books here are all selected with the theme of lifelong learning. I even spotted Mamuang-chan…! The weather was so pleasant—perfect for strolling without feeling the heat. I’m glad to have discovered another place I’d love to come back to ☺️ The summer sky in Japan—love it! Even the air in the parking lot feels fresh 🍃 lol Stopped by a convenience store before checking into the hotel 🏃‍♀️ Rows of Karuizawa Beer lined up 🍻 So many new convenience-store-only products—
they’re all so cute, aren’t they? 😊 Even the famous Mikado Coffee series ☕️ I can’t help but grab one 🤤 After a full day, time to just relax at the hotel 🍃 Mount Asama was completely covered in clouds,
but the view was still so refreshing 🌿 Up next: a delicious dinner and hot spring time ♨️ A delicious dinner as a little treat 😋 — the perfect way to end the day. It rained a bit, but summer in Karuizawa is still truly special 🌿 Hope I can come back from Thailand again next summer to escape the heat 🎐
