Hello! Let’s go to Mandarin Oriental Tokyo today. There are a lot of the gourmet food to enjoy this hotel. The elevator from the entrance is elegant with a red color. We went up to the lobby on the top floor (38F). The flowers on the fan, the symbol of the Mandarin Oriental, are beautiful. The high ceilings create a sense of openness. Looking back, there is the atrium leading to 37F with city view. On 37F, there are Cantonese restaurant “Sense” and French restaurant “Signature.” Now let’s go to the room. Room type is Deluxe Premier Twin Room with Skytree View (R). The clean, calming interior has a modern, slightly Asian feel. At 50㎡, it’s spacious enough for a comfortable stay. Skytree could be seen from here. Around the TV is minibar. Let’s take a look later. The bathroom is behind the blinds. Let’s check the view from the window A panoramic view of Tokyo, with the Skytree An unobstructed 180-degree view, a spectacular sight. Let’s look the detail Nespresso machine, kettle, and mineral water Tea bags are from JING TEA, a premium British tea brand. Drinks in the refrigerator are available at an additional cost. Original blend tea, cookies, and tea leaves are included as a gift. The room service menu is housed in a book-like box. Room service breakfast menu Binoculars BOSE Bluetooth speaker Power switches are all located on the bedside. Umbrellas, shoehorns, and yoga mats are in the closet. Logo slippers. In the drawers were laundry bags, clothes brushes, shoe mitts, paper bags, etc. Safe with a jewelry tray inside Yukata We could receive items without opening the door, just like a parcel locker. Let’s take a look at the wet area. There was a sink, a toilet with a frosted glass door, A shower and a bathtub were side by side. The bathtub was bean-shaped. There were 3 showers: a rain shower, another one above, and a hand shower. Shampoo and other items were from Natura Bissé. Stylish orange accents. Amenities Natura Bissé body lotion is included. Amenities made of bamboo inside boxes, bath salts The hair dryer is Dyson. Let’s take a look at lobby floor. The Oriental Lounge offers afternoon tea, drinks, and light snacks. Inside the lounge, there is “Tapas Molecular Bar”, where we had dinner. Italian Restaurant “Kshiki” This restaurant also features the popular “Pizza Bar on 38th” inside. Sushi Shin by Miyagawa Next door is the gym Work out while enjoying the spectacular view of Skytree and Tokyo skyline. Fruit, dates, original energy bars, Flavored water is lined up. Neatly arranged towels. The spa is on the 37F. The pool and sauna are open to guests for a few hours in the morning. Welcome drinks and sweets were served at Lobby. Sweet crunchy Walnut, mango tart, Kyoho grapes Watermelon mocktail Junmai sake made with Yamadanishiki rice from Kyushu We had one each. We chose watermelon for my drink. Everything was delicious! We can expect the meal after this. We went to the gourmet shop on 1F A stylish store with lots of delicious-looking items. The pastries and cakes look delicious. We wanted to try their signature Kumo cake here! There was a time when we had to go early in the morning to buy them, but Nowadays, it’s not so difficult to get them. There’s a cafe space in the shop, but we decided to have it in our room. I asked the hotel staff and they kindly brought me plates, knives, etc. Enjoying Kumo cake in the sky while looking at Skytree The flavor changes with the seasons. It was mango and yogurt this time. It’s so cute it’s almost a shame to eat it. I cut in excitedly. It looks fluffy, but it was actually quite a substantial and heavy cake. The rough texture of the chocolate exterior is interesting. It’s pretty hard, sorry I couldn’t cut it neatly. Inside is mango confit and madeleine biscuit. Mango and yogurt mousse around it. Not only does it look beautiful, it tastes delicious too! We have dinner at Molecular Cuisine in the Oriental Lounge. “Tapas Molecular Bar” The counter seats only eight. There are 2 sessions: 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Molecular Cuisine is a cuisine that deconstructs and reintegrates familiar dishes. A surprising dish is about to appear! Chef Kento Ushikubo majored in art. The menu is this picture book, story and pictures by himself “A Dream you may or may not have had” Turning around, we see Tokyo cityscape at sunset through the restaurant window. The story begins. Chef Ushikubo will explain the dishes in both English and Japanese. A story about a rabbit searching for its mother. The first dish is “This tasty looking Carrot” From the very start, your eyes will be glued to the skillful dexterity of the chef. The bookcase is also pretty. I can’t remember what it’s made of, but
it’s so much tastier than carrots! “I found truffle!!” Picking off the leaves I found truffle! “Mr Farmer Eating Breakfast Salad” The salad is so stylish it’s like a work of art. A cold powdered dressing is poured over this, and it’s done. “My friend. A poor sighted Snail going the wrong direction.” “The squid fish at the ocean knows where my mom is.” This Snails are hard. It’s made with the sweetener maltose. It was slightly sweet. On the way to the squid, I had some “Crab Coffee” with a talkative crab. Crab soup and espresso… strange but delicious. We whall start with crab cake. “Finally fished the Squidfish” Squid: “Don’t eat me! Your mom is with the Sexy Cow at the Barn closeby” I almost crashed into the rare and tasty “UniOnion.” Yummy!! On the way, “A very Dangerous looking Pig” just shows up! Bacon and grilled eggplant curry underneath. Next, tempura. The pig was filled with plenty of sauce. This dangerous pig will explode if you don’t eat it in one bite. Finally “Sexy Cow…with a sexy Potato” Miso-marinated beef The background music is Marilyn Monroe. The beautiful appearance and performance are also amazing. Not only that, but all the food is delicious! I finally got to meet my mom!
Mom “It must have been a tough journey.” Mom was made by Chef Ushikubo himself too!
He’s really a multitalented person. “We’re both captured by Mr Farmer” “Are we going to be made into a Rabbit Pie?!” Don’t worry. It looks like a Rabbit pie, but… The inside is grilled Kenmi chicken and Shamo chicken marinated in Saikyo seasoning. “Am I still dreaming? Time to go back to sleep….” “Very stubborn princess wanting only pink” It’s a spectacular show! Watermelon Daiquiri Now “Very trustworthy tropical princess” Liquid nitrogen is used to solidify the warm coconut mousse. We have five seconds to start eating the first bite. Underneath it are coconut warabi mochi, burnt pineapple, and
nata de coco marinated in Calpis. It’s Piña colada. Frog appeared and says, “Eat this and wake up” It’s whiskey and chocolate. Eat this and smoke will come out of nose! Anniversary surprise for guests next to us Chef took out egg out of the fridge… Origami cranes in it The chef signed on picture book for souvenior. The signatures were also stylish. We also received a postcard of their choice. It was so amazing dinner, video ended up being long! The performance and the food were both amazing—it was an artistic dinner! We came out to the lobby. Night view from the atrium was beautiful. Back to our room, turndown service was done I thought the scent was lovely, and it turned out to be essential oils. It was developed in collaboration with “Tree of Life.” Small sweets and mineral water were provided by the bedside. The night view is truly beautiful! Some rooms offer views of Mt. Fuji, but it’s far and not always be seen. I think Skytree view room is good option in this hotel. Good night. Good morning! After a visit to the pool at the spa with a spectacular view, we came to have breakfast at “Kshiki.” This restaurant also has a good view. It’s half-buffet breakfast. We can choose one main course. Let’s take a look at the buffet area. Juice, A wide variety of fruit. Sweets Jam, etc. Salad, Hummus. More fruit. Bacon, ham, sausage, Side dishes of vegetables and potatoes. Japanese food. These are pastries from the gourmet shop Beautiful and delicious! I want to try them all. Several types of milk Cereal and nuts Chia seed pudding, jelly, yogurt, etc. Ham, salami, etc. Tofu, cold soup, etc. Cheese, smoked salmon, seafood etc. Miso soup, rice, and dumpling. For the main course, I chose a new dish. “Poached Egg with Sauteéd Spinach and Sea Urchin in Vol-au-Vent” A luxurious pie version of Eggs Benedict. Everything on the buffet was high-quality and delicious. Thank you for the meal. The spectacular view, comfortable rooms, and service were very good. And we really enjoyed the delicious food! I’ve felt the same way at some Mandarin Oriental hotels I’ve visited overseas so far. The food at Mandarin Oriental hotels is good. I’d also like to try more restaurants in Mandarin Oriental Tokyo next time!
