It’s 4:30 PM . I’m heading to Miyanoura Port, the departure port. Today, Progress Arrow departed from Miyanoura Port, and from here , I’ll be heading to the Tokara Islands, which will take about two and a half hours. 12345678. There are eight islands around, even just visible now. This time, I’m going fishing with someone I admire, and I’m really honored to say I admire them. Thank you so much for giving me this special opportunity. I don’t often get the chance to try big game fishing, so this time my wish came true and I’m able to fish with you. What’s more, the place I came this time… There are many meccas for live bait fishing in Japan, but the “northern Tokara” is a top-class spot! It took two flights and a short boat ride from Yakushima. There are so many different kinds of fish, so let’s just enjoy it without setting boring goals ! I hope this day will be one where I don’t care about nonsense like what kind of fish it is or how many kilograms it is! First of all, I have to catch a fish. I’ll use a small fish as live bait. It could be a horse mackerel or a mackerel, as long as it has a tail and can swim, anything is fine! I’ll secure it and put it in the fish tank, thinking about the amount of bait I’ll use, while saving it so I don’t waste it, and hopefully I’ll hit a big fish at the right time. I’ve been practicing really well, checking the line for root slippage and the tip, and they’re gradually getting bigger, so maybe you’re not scared anymore? I’m not scared anymore! I caught a big one so easily… that was a real amberjack, but this one isn’t a big long-finned amberjack, is it? lol After I caught the horse mackerel and started trolling, I caught a lot of amberjack, and many good-sized ones at that. I’m really surprised at the “density of fish” in the Tokara fishing grounds. If I’m being greedy, it seems like the fish you can catch change depending on the tide, so I’d like to catch some groupers other than amberjack, and I’ll keep working hard in the second half. I thought I’d been eaten by a shark. I took it from the keeper and held it straight like a tug-of-war, but the rod is short so it’s really easy, and it came up easily! It’s fun♪ Can you hold it? It ‘s amazing… Chi-chan is strong, she ‘s never lost a girl’s arm wrestling match! I’m not happy lol, is it tough? What a pull… Ah, I can see it, it’s an amberjack! Sorry, I got found out… Did I meet my quota for today? I feel relieved! In the amberjack category, we’ve been catching the biggest amberjack we’ve ever caught, one after another… I’m starting to get a bit numb, right? Without any reservations, big game fishing gear makes all the difference in whether you can catch a big one or not… I feel like I’ve really done some big game fishing. It’s 5pm now… I woke up at 3am… It’s here? How’s it going up smoothly? It’s bitten! It ‘s heavy… Why do n’t you put it over here (the keeper)? I’ll hold it in place with my hand , so just adjust the lever! The boss is already up, it’s a good size! It’s really amazing! There are still amberjack! Wow, I do n’t know how many I caught ! What a big catch! I’m already full today . I really never thought I’d be able to catch so many amberjack like a big winner in my fishing career. Will it go up? Fishing trip over. I was really thinking today…is n’t this equipment really amazing? lol . It’s like a lie that I used to pant so much when fishing for big fish. This is really the way I handle it and the way I fight. If I can get better at fighting with an electric rod or using a fixed rod , I’ll be able to fish for big fish so much more comfortably. So if I’m scared, I can just use a fixed rod. I can’t fight straight, you know? But this rod is short, so I can do it! So I’m really not scared and I’m less tired than before . Can I do it tomorrow too? It was a fun ending with a feeling of “Yay!” Thank you for the first day.
