To the Edge of Japan – Riding My GB350 to Cape Sōya & Beyond

Camped for free last night at Wakkanai Forest Park. The wind howled through the night—his single-pole tent barely held on. At 3:30 in the morning,
he woke up to find a deer standing nearby. She looked at him, gave a graceful little bow… and walked off like a lady. Before hitting the road,
there’s something he needs to say. In Day 4’s video, he mentioned
one of the seat bag straps had snapped— but actually… another one had broken too. Good thing he bought this at a hardware store yesterday. According to the label, it’s meant for securing luggage. So… he tied it on like this. Now he’s just hoping it’ll hold. Gloves on— and just like that, he’s back on the road. …Or so he thought. Turns out, he forgot to zip his pocket. When he tried, the zipper caught on the fabric. Classic move. A little tug here, a little struggle there— and finally, success. Now, the ride truly begins. OK, let’s go! Now, he heads for Cape Sōya—
the northernmost point of Japan’s mainland. Cape Sōya—
the northernmost point of Japan’s mainland,
and a dream destination for many riders. It’s a 46-minute ride from the Wakkanai Forest Park Campground to Cape Sōya. But first, he makes a stop—
at the White Road, paved with crushed scallop shells,
a local specialty of Wakkanai. From there, the road stretches north—
quiet, open, and full of promise. Do you remember the thrill When we were kids, riding our bikes
To a town we’d never seen Crossing the river, under the bridge It felt like a land untouched
A world unknown wrapped around me Let it roll Let it roll Let it roll The wind decides where I’ll go Now the bike has changed its form Wheels bigger, engine strong But that childhood rush remains Heading into the unknown
That’s all the drive I ever need Let it roll Let it roll Let it roll Seagull asked me “Where are you flying today?” I smiled and said “I haven’t decided yet.” He laughed and cried
“Me neither, friend!” I said
“The wind will guide us on.” He said “We’re the same, you and I.” Let it roll Let it roll Let it roll No matter where this road may lead All I need is the ride Chasing dreams, chasing freedom Riding wild with open eyes Let it roll Let it roll Let it roll Chasing that endless horizon Wheels spinning, spirits high Let it roll Let it roll Let it roll Cape Sōya—
Japan’s northernmost point.
We made it. Technically, wind is invisible.
But this feels pretty visible. One for the memories. Leaving Cape Sōya.
Now heading for Clione Campground near Shiretoko,
via the scenic Enusaka Line. It’s about a five-hour ride from Cape Sōya to the campground. Enusaka Line A 16km road stretching straight
through open pastureland. No poles, no signs
—just pure horizon. A rider’s dream
—straight into the sky. Back when I kept asking,
“What is my true self?” When I had no dreams or
goals and felt lost in panic I was desperately searching for
the reason I was born Time passes in an instant And before I knew it, I was seeing
the news that many celebrities had died The left palm I see now hasn’t changed But so much around me surely has As we grow older,
people stop taking risks No, it’s not that they don’t take risks— It’s that they can’t take them anymore They stay frozen, unable to move But that’s not their fault It’s because of
the environment around them Because we can’t change
the world around us …Is that really true? Can you honestly say your childhood self
wouldn’t be disappointed to see you now? Don’t let the opinions of
the world make you lose yourself Just stay who you are, just stay who you are Before I noticed, I had become one of
those adults I swore I’d never be like But again, that’s not my fault It’s the adults’ fault, the environment’s fault, my genes’ fault Everything is someone else’s fault An unconscious loser Pretending to be a winner—
what a pathetic adult They block their ears
to the sighs of children Every day,
looking for someone to blame on the news Blowing off steam in online games Harsh on others, soft on themselves What is a cool adult? A man in a suit? A rich man? A woman married to someone who
lives in a Tokyo tower apartment? How ridiculous What a load of crap! Don’t let the opinions of
the world make you lose yourself Just stay who you are, just stay who you are Whew—so glad it’s sunny! The sky cleared, and so did my mind. With nothing holding me back, it’s time to ride. RIDE HOKKAIDO. Song : RIDE HOKKAIDO

Lyrics : Finn Hollow The sky of dawn hints at today’s journey. Summer mornings in Hokkaido come surprisingly early. Now, it’s 3:30 a.m. I feel a rising thrill deep in my chest. It’s time. The beginning. RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO A road stretching straight ahead speaks of time. A winding path speaks of life. A vast land speaks of the Earth itself. Escape from the everyday— Maybe that’s why we ride in Hokkaido. In a country of crowded rooftops and lives, Hokkaido feels even bigger than the numbers say. Hokkaido = Austria Hokkaido = South Carolina Hokkaido = United Arab Emirates Can you picture it now? For many riders in Japan,
Hokkaido is a dream. A sacred land. Over mountains and across the sea, they come—drawn to something deeper. RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO Where the engine hum meets the ocean breeze, I catch the scent of salt inside my helmet. From horizon to ocean line— What do you see there? Freedom? Solitude? Or something that trembles from within? Sunrise in Hokkaido— a pale, translucent light that gently wakes the world. Sunset—
a fiery orange, the final blaze before passion burns away. We, the Japanese,
see life in that light. RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO RIDE FREEDOM RIDE ALONE RIDE HOKKAIDO Arrived at
