【沖縄Vlog】竹富島と西表島で過ごす、心ほどける島時間 | やさしい自然に包まれる癒しの旅
This time we went to Taketomi Island and Iriomote Island. We were healed by the relaxing atmosphere that enveloped the island. And we enjoyed the leisurely time on the island. We hope you enjoy your journey with us. First, we will head to Taketomi Island from Ishigaki Port. Taketomi Island is an island that I have always wanted to visit at least once in my life. I’m so happy to finally be able to go to the island I’ve always dreamed of! Unfortunately it’s cloudy, but I’m feeling bright. It takes about 10 minutes by ferry from Ishigaki Island to Taketomi Island. Spend time planning your time on the island. In no time, Taketomi Island came into view. Taketomi Island village is characterized by red tiled roofs and stone walls made of coral. The townscape is truly the “original scenery of Okinawa.” Tropical flowers such as bougainvillea are in full bloom along the roadside. As you walk, you will be drawn into the atmosphere of Taketomi Island. Speaking of Taketomi Island, it is famous for its water buffalo carts. I can’t believe this scenery is commonplace! It’s as if time has stopped on this island. I’ve always wanted to ride a water buffalo cart someday, and today my dream has come true! Now, let’s have a water buffalo guide us around the island! A water buffalo moving slowly. The view from the water buffalo cart feels even more special. As you feel the pleasant tremors, the scenery slowly changes. The gentle sound of the shamisen blends into the scenery of Taketomi Island. Your body will slowly get used to the relaxing time of Taketomi Island. I was completely absorbed in the laid-back atmosphere of Taketomi Island. Thank you to him for giving us such a wonderful experience. Have a good rest! We came to rent bikes before heading to our next spot. You can also walk around the island. But we have a lot of places we want to go, so we go around by bicycle. First, we came to Flower Road, where bougainvillea is in full bloom. A buffalo cart moves slowly through a quiet village. Is this really Japan? It’s a dream-like landscape that makes you think. Next, we came to the observation deck where we could see the entire townscape of Taketomi Island. From the observation deck, you can see the typical scenery of Taketomi Island, with rows of red tiled roofs. Just looking at this view makes me glad I came to Taketomi Island. I’m hungry, so I go to a cafe I’ve been interested in. A red-tiled roof and an elegant appearance. Take a break at an old folk house cafe typical of Taketomi Island where you can feel the warmth of wood. This cafe offers a wide variety of food and drinks. There are so many rare shochu that we can’t help but want to try. But we have to ride our bikes, so we put up with it. I’ll start with prosciutto and rosemary pizza. The scent of rosemary spreads softly in your mouth. It’s so stylish and delicious! He loves spicy food, so he tries island chili peppers. The owner says, be careful not to add too much island chili pepper! The spiciness is stronger than regular chili peppers, and the taste is addictive. We also have some yakisoba that caught our eye. The sweet and spicy sauce soaks into the dish, which is also delicious! Surrounded by the comfort of island life. I feel like I was able to experience a little bit of the daily life on Taketomi Island. We went to an ice cream shop recommended by the buffalo cart guide. This store has popular popsicles that are loved by locals and tourists alike. The handmade look makes you feel warm. The balance between the saltiness and the sweetness of the milk is exquisite. It had a somewhat nostalgic and gentle taste. Finally, we came to the popular tourist spot “Kaiji Beach”. Kaiji Beach is also known as “Star Sand Beach” because the sand looks star-shaped. Just the sound of the word “star sand” is cute. The real thing is so cute too! Now, let’s go on a journey to find star sand! I found a cat here. Beach and cats are such a refreshing combination. I was so absorbed in walking around the beach that I almost forgot about Hoshisuna! Now, let’s try searching for star sand for the first time! We will continue to remove large stones and sand. In the sand, I find tiny star-shaped pieces of sand without thinking. The result was a perfect score of 4 stars. It was a relaxing moment of comfort on the island. Just like yesterday, we will head to Iriomote Island from Ishigaki Port. Since we have some time before departure, let’s drink Ishigaki Island’s specialty Euglena. Euglena can be seen everywhere, including convenience stores and vending machines. I was curious about it, so I decided to give it a try. It looks like vegetable juice and seems to be kind to the body. There was no bitterness, and the taste was refreshing and easy to drink. It takes about 40 minutes by ferry from Ishigaki to Iriomote Island. Unfortunately the weather is covered with thick clouds today. Let’s enjoy the untouched nature of Iriomote Island! First we will go on a mangrove cruise. We have also seen mangroves on Miyakojima. However, this is my first time to get on a boat and observe it up close. I’m excited to see what kind of scenery is unfolding. As expected, Iriomote Island boasts the largest mangrove forest in Japan. The greenery stretches on forever, and it feels like another world. Mangrove is a general term for plants that grow in brackish waters where seawater and freshwater mix. Seven species of mangroves inhabit Iriomote Island. The way their roots intertwine is mysterious and gives you a sense of vitality. You will be captivated by the natural beauty that is unique to this area. Walking through the thick green jungle makes you feel like you’re on a jungle adventure. If you go by canoe, you’ll feel even more adventurous. It was a sight that overwhelmed me with the power of nature. Get on the bus and head to your next destination. Water buffalo carts on Iriomote Island are famous for crossing the sea. We will be riding buffalo again today! The water buffalo carts on Iriomote Island have a different impact than those on Taketomi Island. The scenery is so far from reality that you might forget that you are in Japan. Walking across the ocean is a strange and special experience. Thank you for sending it! Let’s take a walk around Yubu Island. Lush greenery and the sound of birds chirping from somewhere. The site of a quiet elementary school. It feels like you’re on a big adventure in the jungle. While walking through the forest, we came across a resting spot for buffalo. Watching them move so slowly, you can feel time passing by slowly. Take a break at a cafe that feels like a hideaway nestled in the forest. Here you can enjoy handmade sweets and coffee. You can spend a relaxing time surrounded by nature. We ordered cafe lattes. Deep, mellow and easy to drink. We relaxed and listened to the sound of waves and rustling leaves. I’m happy to be able to enjoy island time that can only be experienced in Okinawa. Just like going there, ask the water buffalo to take you to the other side. The two days were spent relaxing and not feeling rushed. We had a special and relaxing time.
