インドネシア「星のやバリ」は熱帯雨林の「村」だった!
All guest rooms are detached houses with gardens. There are rivers, valleys, and jungles within the large grounds. It was more like a village than a hotel! Hello! The plane is heading to Bali. I’m flying with Garuda Indonesia. My seat was in business class. It’s an eight-hour flight from Japan. These are the amenities. In-flight meals are Western or Japanese. I chose Japanese food and it was delicious. The ramen and satay were delicious too. Bali is coming into view. The area is 5,600 square kilometers. The population is 3.9 million. Landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport. This airport is located at the southernmost tip of the island. From here, we will take a hotel shuttle bus. It is about a 2-hour drive. There are many restaurants and shops open at the airport. The building is designed to let in plenty of sunlight. The hotel is located in the inland area of the island. We will proceed from the city to the jungle. Arrival at Hoshinoya Bali. The hotel entrance is here. Pass through the magnificent gate into the courtyard. This courtyard is the hotel lobby. Balinese bamboo instrument. Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. There are many Balinese handicrafts on the shelf. I took a short break with a welcome drink. All guest rooms are detached villas. There are 30 villas in total. I booked the villa for two nights for 950 USD. The price is the same for one or two people, but meals are not included. The gates of Balinese houses are narrow and decorated. It is said to prevent evil spirits from entering. The inside of the gate is a private space for guests. You will not encounter other guests inside the gate. Unlock with a room key. Accommodates up to 3 guests. Spacious room with 3 beds. Clean bedding and thick mattresses. Traditional Indonesian carvings. High ceilings create an open atmosphere. It feels like visiting a friend’s house in Bali. The room is bright with natural light. There is a coffee machine and some bottles of mineral water. Enjoy coffee time while listening to music. Let’s take a look at the minibar and refrigerator. For example, beer is 4 USD and cola is 2 USD. The bathroom is here. There are two sinks, which seems convenient. The staff told me to brush my teeth with mineral water. This is because the water quality in Bali is not very good. There are various amenities. Indoor wear, slippers, and beach sandals. You can take these large and small bags with you. This is the toilet. Everything is clean. I’m happy that the bathtub is large. I’m happy that the bathtub is large. The shower and water supply were very easy to use. I’m looking forward to taking a bath. This is sure to be a wonderful stay! This garden is also a private space for guests. You can relax in the gazebo. What a luxurious space! Actually, this is the second floor. Go down the stairs… This is the living apace facing the pool. Of course, this area is also for guests only. All 30 villas face the pool. It’s hard to decide where to relax. There is also a shower and toilet on the first floor. The humidity is low, so a fan is enough to keep you cool. Next, let’s take a look at the shared facilities. We will visit the shop later. This walkway faces the valley. It recreates traditional irrigation channels in Bali. There are many gazebos along the walkway. You can relax freely in the gazebo. Be careful not to drop your smartphone in the valley. The gazebos are built to jut out over the valley. The surrounding area is covered in dense jungle. During the dry season in Bali, sprinklers are used to water the plants. There is a restaurant at the end of the walkway. This restaurant is located along the valley. You can eat here in the morning, afternoon, and evening. This is a picture of a Balinese dancer. Let’s walk to the other side of the walkway. Spa is open. Terrace and rest area. The spa facilities are located below the valley. Access via stairs or elevator. Rice cultivation developed in Bali thanks to irrigation channels. Irrigation canals brought prosperity to Bali. This landscape reflects the history and culture of Bali. Time seems to pass slowly here. Let’s take a look inside the shop. It’s fun just to look at the various handicrafts of Bali. 100,000 rupiah is about 6 USD. Bali has a long tradition of craftsmanship. We returned to the restaurant. The furniture and decorations are also very luxurious. You can see the jungle from every table. The menu is mainly Indonesian cuisine. Western and Japanese dishes are also available. Indonesian Bintang Beer is 5 USD. Papaya Salad is 8 USD. Ayam Taliwan (grilled chicken) is 15 USD. Mie Goreng is 12 USD. The lighting on the walkway is minimal. There is also a bar next to the restaurant. After dinner, I spent a relaxing evening in my room. It started raining early in the morning. The gazebo is closed with screens. Umbrellas are available at the front desk. July and August are the dry season in Bali. It is rare for it to rain like this. The temperature is high but the humidity is low, so it’s comfortable. The staff cleaning the pool. Let’s go to the restaurant. The menu is different in the morning. Indonesian set meal is 23 USD. It is rice porridge with nine side dishes and steamed chicken. Dessert and coffee included. I really like this place. The bar next door offers free tea. I enjoyed it in the gazebo. When I returned to the villa, it had been cleaned. The staff brought me some sweets. Let’s go into the pool from the first floor. The pool is 70 meters long. There are two other pools of the same size. I felt the harmony with nature. The water flows gently. The pool is a river, and the villas are modeled after traditional houses. It certainly looks like a village. Looking up, you can see tall trees characteristic of the tropics. This is a landscape I can’t see in Japan. The water depth is 1.1 meters. There is a shared lounge at the edge of the pool. The breeze is pleasant, and the sound of water is constant. A pleasant breeze and the constant sound of water Lunch is spaghetti bolognese for 15 USD. A free shuttle bus runs between the hotel and Ubud. Arrived in about 30 minutes. Ubud is a tourist town in the mountains. This coffee shop is famous even in Japan. Indonesia is the world’s third largest coffee producer. There are many production areas, including Bali, Sumatra, and Java. Outside the shop, there is a festival parade. They asked me to introduce this parade on my YouTube channnel. Let’s have dinner at this restaurant. It’s a popular restaurant that requires reservations. Beef carpaccio, grilled shrimp, and lamb stew for 55 USD. Ubud is also famous for its traditional crafts and dance. Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati contributed to the development of Ubud. It was a fulfilling day. It rained in the jungle again this morning. There is a small temple in the corner of the hotel grounds. Yoga and dance lessons are held here. Morning walk on the walkway. Head to the gazebo when tired. I want to eat at this restaurant again and again. Check-out is by noon. This villa was wonderful and comfortable. It felt like staying in a Balinese village. The staff’s service made me feel that way. The two nights flew by in the blink of an eye. It’s very sad and lonely to leave. Hoshinoya Bali, I’ll be back. Thank you for watching! CAPSULE JAPAN updates every other Friday. See you in the next video!
