上河内鉱泉 旭旅館跡 福井県鯖江市 | The Ruins of Asahi Ryokan at Kami-Kōchi Onsen, Sabae [4K Binaural]
This video explores the remains of Asahi Ryokan, once situated at Kami-Kōchi Onsen in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. Filmed in June 2025 with 4K video and binaural audio, the footage reflects a poignant transformation.
I first visited and filmed the ryokan in 2021, when the building still stood in surprisingly good condition, evoking a mysterious and almost sacred atmosphere. Unfortunately, that earlier footage was lost in a fire. During my return in 2025, I discovered that the ryokan building had been completely demolished—only a small Jizō statue remains, standing quietly amid the ruins.
Once established in 1889 and operating until around 1999, Asahi Ryokan served guests who came to bathe in the Kami-Kōchi mineral spring—a remote, acidic hot spring known locally as Kawachi Onsen. What remains today is a silent reminder of the building that once welcomed travelers and locals alike.
This recording is not just a visual document but a reflection on memory, disappearance, and the passing of time—captured through sound and image.

この映像は、福井県鯖江市 上河内鉱泉にかつて存在した 旭旅館 の廃墟跡を訪ねたものです。2025年6月に4K映像とバイノーラル録音で撮影しましたが、その変化は深く心に残ります。
実は2021年にもこの宿を訪れ、撮影したことがあります。当時はまだ建物がきれいに残っており、神秘的な雰囲気が漂っていました。しかしその映像は火災により失われてしまいました。再訪した2025年の現在、建物は完全に取り壊され、小さな地蔵像だけが静かに佇んでいました。
旭旅館は1889年に創設され、1999年ころまで営業していたとされる一軒宿で、地元では 河内鉱泉として親しまれてきた温泉宿でした 。今は温泉の源泉や水場も残りませんが、訪れた人々の営みの記憶だけが静かに残されています。
